Killer buns and thighs!

I wasn’t too sure about the title of this post, but Jillian’s new DVD really kicks my, well, butt.  In a good way of course.  ;)

Today was a big step for me spiritually.  When I started this blog, there were many things that I wanted it to be about.  Fitness, yes.  Laughter, definitely yes.  And my Faith.  As of late, however, I have really struggled with a few things.  Without going into detail and getting too personal, I have wept, I have had trouble making sense of things, I have felt physical pain (mainly due to stress), and I have had trouble sleeping.  I am not here to push my faith down anyone’s throat, but it is an important part of my life.  But just how important?  I started my relationship with Christ when I was 10, and as you can imagine I hadn’t really experienced “life” yet.  For 27 years I have had a relationship with the One who has created me, but have I really committed my life to Him?  Do I still worry about what people think?  When I look in the mirror do I like what I see? (and not in a physical way). 

Part of our worship at my church consists of what is called, Scripture Reading.  Someone from our congregation will take their turn and share a passage in the Bible that speaks to them.  It was my turn today.  Because of the struggles that I am having I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it.  I was perplexed with what passage to use and really worried if I was going to come up with something.  When I finally relaxed I heard this, “Jesus wept.”  John 11:35.  If you are not familiar with this verse, it is the shortest verse in the Bible and it is when Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead.  It isn’t Lazarus that Jesus is weeping over, its Christs’ compassion for others and their sorrows that made Him weep.  My point?  I truly believe that when we struggle, and when we go through things that we just don’t understand, He weeps for us.  My prayer is for clarity and peace. 

Breakfast:

Whew! did I sleep in late this morning!  I thought that I was going to be late!  So I went with something super fast for breakfast.

In the smoothie:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of frozen cherries
  • 1 cup of 35 Calorie almond milk
  • 1 + 1/2 tbs of peanut butter
  • 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1 handful of Kale

I had this for a snack the other day:

Have you had one?  They are gluten, soy, dairy, and wheat free.  All natural and good!!

Workout:

Right after I made it home from church, I put in Jillian’s new Killer buns and thighs DVD.  There are 3 levels and so far I am really loving it.
