And the beat goes on

Happy Friday!!   I love that it’s Friday!   Everything about today makes me smile.  It’s been a great week, a long week, but a great one.  Work has gone well this week and that’s always a good thing.  Even with the laffy taffy incident yesterday, the food thing has gone well this week.  Let’s finish it up shall we:

 

Lunch: 

This has been one of my favorites lately.  It’s fresh and cool and really really good.

  • spring mix greens
  • chicken
  • walnuts
  • strawberries
  • feta cheese

 

Snack:

Clementine

 

I picked some up the other day at the store and these things were huge!  They almost look like a regular size orange.

 

 

Dinner:

Bird’s Eye has these great meals in a bag that I really like.  I hadn’t had one in a long time, so I thought this would be simple and fast.  Oh my goodness this was good.  It had carrots, broccoli, little noodles, corn and some cheese.  I also sprinkled some Golden Nuggets on it and it was good!

 

 

Workout:

So Wednesday I had this complete run fail.  I hadn’t hydrated properly throughout the day, I ate an ungodly amount of laffy taffy, and lets face it, not having my music to listen to was a fail.  But yesterday’s run was the opposite of fail!  I hydrated all day long, no laffy taffy, and my meals were balanced……aaaand I had my music.  This equals 5 miles!!   I usually do my long run on the weekends, but I wasn’t sure if I could fit it in.  Saturday is going to be a full day and Sunday is going to be another busy one, so Thursday it is.  :)

This run felt amazing!  I ran the first two miles without stopping and then after each additional mile I stopped to stretch and hydrate myself.  This may not work for some, but it did for me.  I really liked being able to take 60 seconds or so to catch my  breath and drink something.  I also tried this little jewel.

There is something about running that long, or even doing a really hard/long workout that makes me SO sleepy!  I couldn’t keep my eyes open last night!!

At about 1:00 a.m. last night I was woken up by some really loud thunder!  Lol…I do the strangest things sometimes.  I got up put some dishes up, grabbed the flashlight waiting for the electricity to go off and cleaned the bathroom.  Crazy!!

 

So what’s on your agenda today??   Work?  Off for the day??   Whatever you are doing today, make it a good day.  Smile at someone who you don’t know.  Pay for someones meal behind you.  Love someone.  Forgive someone.  Make peace with yourself or with someone else.

  1. YES for 5 milers and getting urself properly runner fueled and hydrated!! :) oh and trust me, on the days i’ve run hard/long i totally allow myself the license to be a lazy blob and not move the rest of the day…it’s a runner’s right and it’s earned. ;)
