It’s the little things

Well hello there. Smile   How has your Saturday been so far?  I actually had to work today, but it wasn’t so bad.  It past by pretty quickly and then it was time to go home. 

The last few weeks have just kind of ran together and I don’t feel like I am on some sort of schedule yet…….with anything.  I have however, slept better the last few nights.  I want to get back to a morning schedule when it comes to my running and that still has yet to happen.  I just feel very tired all of the time lately.  I take a prescription Vitamin D once a week (50,000 units) and was coming toward the end of the week, but I don’t know if that was it.  Ugh.

 

Workout:

 

3 Mile Speed Run:   

Mile One:    9.07

Mile Two:    8.27

Mile Three:    8.52

Total Time:    26:27

Average Pace:    8.49

 

 

My knees haven’t felt all that great lately and this run was no different.  It’s mainly my left side…from my hip to my knee.  I am icing it as I type this. 

The first mile was just a warm-up and I was a little stiff, but by the time mile two and three rolled around my legs did feel better.  I was worried whether or not I would feel any pain. 

 

 

When I got home from work, my mother and I went back into town to get the “Thanksgiving Menu” items.  Smile  There were a couple of stops along the way and one was at this cute little store that I haven’t been to in a long time.

I have been meaning to put some pictures on a disk for my brother Jason and my SNL Lynn for a long time now and I was so glad that I was able to do that today!

I have been a little behind!! 

 

Today: be silly with your loved ones or friends. 

 

 

 

I was reminded the other day that it’s the little things that really matter.  (not to be compared to “don’t sweat the small stuff”).  My dad is always wanting me to come see something on the computer that he may have run across.  Mostly, they are inspirational and may have something to do with the military and that is ok with me. 

Anyway, he showed me this really cool video about how everything is a gift to us.  This very moment that I am typing this sentence is a gift.  The very fact that we wake up and are able to take a step is a gift.  Have you ever stopped to think about how our body and organs function?  It really is a gift. 

Enjoy the clouds in the sky because you will never see that formation again.  It really is spectacular when you think about it.  The fact that if we were any closer to the sun, we would burn up.  Any farther away and we would freeze.  Amazing.

A smile.  It may be the nicest thing you do for someone.

  1. I found (and still do find) that when I increased running I needed a lot more of nutrients I was previously fine on. Iron is the big one, but I also run low on sodium and running does up your nutrient needs. I think I need more sleep when really active too, so I think it’s understandable you’re feeling more tired!

    That is so true about life and our abilities being a gift – thank you for the reminder :)
