Hi!  How’s it going?  I am going to apologize up front for the randomness of this post.  ;)    I feel like I have so much in my head and it just has to come out!

So I feel like baking all of the time now.  I mean I could go in the kitchen right now and bake cookies, a cake, a cheesecake.  Anything!  I love baking!  The problem?     I like to eat it too.  :)    And this wouldn’t be a problem, but I sometimes can get on a roll and not stop.

Last nights sleep was pretty interesting.  Sometime around 1:30 these cats outside decided to get into a fight.  This woke me from a dead sleep!  The next thing I know I have the flashlight in hand and I am standing outside searching for the fighting cats!!  After checking on the two cats that I have outside (they are ok mom) I went back to bed, but I didn’t go right back to sleep.  I tossed a bit and then finally dozed off a couple of hours later.  I even woke up before my alarm went off, which makes for a sleepy morning.

Instead of getting my run in this morning, I did it when I came home from work.

Workout:

2 mile run.

Mile One:    8.58

Mile Two:    8.57

Total time:    18:03

Average Pace:    8.57

I felt really great on this run!

Do you watch General Hospital?   AJ is back on there!

Breakfast:

One english muffin with one cinnamon skinny cow cream cheese, half an apple and one egg

Snack:

Lunch:

One english muffin with two slices of turkey, one slice of cheddar cheese, spinach, half an apple and…

….

….some Greek Yogurt.

A few hours later I grabbed another snack:

2/3 cup of cottage cheese and some grapes

Dinner:

Grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and some sweet potato wedges.  I also put some cheyenne pepper on the sweet potatoes and oh my word they were so good!  My mouth was completely on fire when I was finished, but it was so worth it.

I cannot believe that October is almost over!  I mean oh my word this year has gone by so fast.  Thanksgiving is coming up and then Christmas.  Wow!

Have a great night!

Well hello there.  How was your Thursday???   Is it me, or do the weeks just kind of run together anymore??  :)

I got up and around this morning at 6:30, downed my first cup of coffee and then jumped into my running gear.  Today was my speed run of 4 miles.

Let’s break it down:

Mile One:    9.41

Mile Two:    8.34 (<<fastest mile yet!)

Mile Three:    9.03

Mile Four:    9.46

Total Time:    37:15

Average Pace:    9.16

I really felt great on this run.  I’ll admit, I was a little tired and wanted to just sleep in, but once I got started it was on.  Here is how Cait broke my drills down.  I would run fast for a set time and then run at a regular pace for a set time.

3 minutes/2 minutes

2 minutes/2 minutes

1 minute/2 minutes

1 minute/finish out the run at a regular pace.

“one day at a time, one run at a time”

Breakfast:

One Pumpkin Waffle, one banana, and one egg.  111  :)

I have also been enjoying one of these on my way into work….

Kind of wish they would make a dark roast… ;)

Snack/Lunch:

One Pear (which was super sweet!) and some Chobani Champions Greek yogurt

A little while later I ate some grilled chicken that I had brought from home.

I wasn’t too hungry this afternoon, so I waited to eat when I got home tonight….No picture yet, but it was chili.  Recipe to come!!

So I am not a huge fan of scary movies by any means.  But with Halloween coming up I wanted to make a list of some of my favorite scary movies….  Ok, here goes.

  1. Halloween
  2. Silver Bullet
  3. The Lost Boys
  4. Misery
  5. Copycat
  6. I know what you did last summer
  7. When a Stranger Calls
  8. The Woman In Black

Ok, I could only come up with 8, but as you can see…..Most of them are just suspense.  What about you??  Do you have a favorite scary movie that you like to watch every Halloween??

Welp, that is all that I have folks.  I am off to bed!  Have a great night!!

Sleepy already… October 16, 2012

It’s Tuesday night, 6:45, and I am already sleepy.  Last night I think that I ended up closing my eyes at midnight and didn’t get a restful sleep once I closed them.  Makes for sleepy eyes!

Once I got to work this morning, I started working on an issue one of our tellers had and it ended up being a busy morning.  Before I knew it, my tummy was talking to me.

Snack:

I grabbed half an apple and some greek yogurt.

Lunch:

Grilled chicken and greens on one slice of whole wheat bread and one orange.  This orange was SO juicy and sweet!

Snack:

1/2 cup of cottage cheese and one tbsp of almond butter.  Don’t knock it until you try it!  :)

Dinner:

Sweet potato rounds with extra virgin olive oil and some crushed red pepper along with one chicken link.

Workout:

Here is my 3 mile run from this morning….

Mile one:    9.21

Mile two:    9.36

Mile three:    9.17

Total time:    28.22

Average pace:    9.25

You know, I don’t know what I would do without my play-list while I run.  :)    Another thing that I love about running is that you can just get lost in what you are doing.  I mean you legs literally just do the work and you can almost shut the upper body down.  Sounds crazy I know, but it’s true!  Running allows me to just think about that…….running.  It also allows me to work thru some things that might even be bother me.  I think it’s the endorphins, but it could also be my amazing super powers!  Lol!  I think that I have been watching the Avengers too much……ya think??

I am about to go wash my face and relax for the rest of the night.  :)

Catch ya later!

Just wanted to pop in to say a quick hello!  I hope that you have a had a wonderful day.  :)     It actually turned out to be a hot day.  It started out with some overcast, which was cool at first, but then by noon it was hot.  In fact, I had the AC on in my car on the way home and it’s currently on in the house right now.  It’s supposed to be this way for the next week or so….

So what are you doing tonight??  Going to watch the Vice-Presidential Debate??

Lunch:

No picture, but I had 3 oz of chicken, brussels sprouts and half of a banana.

This afternoon I tried a new snack and really loved it…

Raspberry greek yogurt!

Dinner:

For dinner I had one chicken link, one small red potato, and the rest of the brussels sprouts.

Workout:

3 mile run with 3 sets of speed drills.

Mile One:    9.22

Mile Two:    8.44

Mile Three:    9.17

Total time:    27.33

Average pace:    9.07

On tomorrow’s schedule??  2 miles easy pace.

I read the a list today on Yahoo Health about some things that cause stress in our lives that we may not necessarily think that would cause us stress.

  1. Your dog
  2. co-workers
  3. your doctor
  4. your bedroom
  5. your alarm clock
  6. facebook
  7. your keys
  8. your computer
  9. the light in your bathroom
  10. celebrity gossip

I can see why some of them would cause stress, but there were a few that surprised me.  Dog???  If you have a pet that might be sick a lot, or even chew on things constantly, then it might cause unwanted stress and anxiety.

Celebrity gossip??  I wouldn’t have thought about it, but I can see it.  Comparison.  That is all that I am going to say.

Bathroom light?  If the light isn’t flattering and shows some fo the things that you might not want to see….well you get the picture.

The list is worth checking out.. :)

Goodnight!

…..I’m gonna scream!!   Lol!  Leave it to Beaver was on this morning and this little kid wanted these pair of shoes and that is what he said.  Funny stuff!   Funny, cause I act like that sometimes.  :)

Morning Tuesday!   I was so glad to be able to sleep in an extra hour this morning.  So instead of 5:00 it was 6:00 when my alarm went off.  It actually kind of startled me too!  Lol…don’t ya love that feeling of, “oh crap, what’s going on?!!”

I go in late this morning, so my day will end at 6:00 tonight.  This weekend is going to be a busy one….We have this yearly festival the first weekend in October called Timberfest.  It’s really cool to see everyone come out and enjoy the festivities!  I will give a re-cap with pictures.

Breakfast:

Greek Yogurt, 1 frozen waffle, and half an apple.  I also added just a tiny bit of chia seeds.  :)

This really hit the spot!

Workout:

My plan called for rest/light stretching, so I am going to end my day with a little yoga session.

Welp, I am off to get ready for work!   You guys have a great day!

Happy Hump Day!

Ahhh, coffee.

How was your Tuesday?  Anything new happen to you?  My ended with a quick 1.4 mile run.  Came home and then finished up the lawn.  Something I wanted to get done before the weekend.

I tried something different with lunch yesterday and I wanted to share it with you!

I took the following:

  • Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt
  • granola
  • chocolate dreams nut butter
  • 1/2 of a red delicious apple

I chopped the apple up (with skin) and put it in the bottom of the bowl, added the yogurt, added the granola, and then drizzled the nut butter on top.  This was so good!

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here today!  It’s cool and breezy!  I stepped outside and was like….ahhhh.  :)   We are supposed to get some of the rain from the hurricane, so this weekend it will be rainy.  I’ll take the beautiful weather when I can get it!

This breakfast sandwich was so good this morning!

I took one egg, two slices of turkey bacon, one slice of gouda cheese and I added it all to an english muffin.

How are you going to spend your Wednesday?  I will be at work until 6:00 and then it’s off to church.

Have a great day!!

Hey!  Hola! Hello!  :)   Happy Wednesday!   It’s been a marvelous day!!  The sun is out, it’s not too hot, and it’s just a good day.

Yum! Eggs!  I have really been wanting to change-up my breakfasts lately, but somehow keep making eggs. :)

Today was my half day at work!  I really enjoy being able to get some things done during the week.  Lately, I have really wanted to unplug from my computer.  I work with one all day long and sometimes coming home and getting in front of one makes my tummy turn.  I also find it hard to keep up with all of the blogs that I read.  I get behind and feel guilty about it.  :/  I want to actually live my life instead of living it around something.  Make sense?  Maybe it’s just me.

To do list:

  1. add a shoe shelf to closet
  2. wash car
  3. pick up prescription
  4. run 3.13 miles
  5. go to store
  6. lay something out for dinner

Before I ran this afternoon, I had a light lunch to get me through it…

Yoplait 100 Calorie Greek yogurt.  Dark Cherry.  Yum.

I felt really great on my ru, but I kept getting this muscle thing in my left quad.  At one point I just got off and did some stretching and it was all better.

Ghost 4′s!

I wanted to hand wash my car when I got home, so I got right to it when I pulled into the drive way.  All clean!!

Then it was smoothie time!

What are you up to today??    I think that I am going to read for a bit….:)  I finished Divergent in two days.  I have never done that before!!   I started the second book Insurgent and so far, it doesn’t disappoint.   I can’t tell you how great these books are!  You will get completely sucked in right when you start reading.

Adios!

Morning!  And how was your Sunday?   Mine was great!  Aside from not getting a lot of sleep the night before, Sunday was a great day.  :)   Church was amazing.  I love how there is always something in the sermon that I need to hear.

Do you know what else I love to hear?  Rain.  It’s coming a down pour right now and the sound of it is fantastic.

I tried something new yesterday for breakfast!  Yoplait has a new 100 calorie greek yogurt, so I picked up a couple to try.  :)

After church I did head over to my friend’s house to hang out for a bit and then I headed home to get a little rest in.  I ended up actually taking a nap!  On Sunday, I always lay down.  Always.  I don’t neccessarily want to go to sleep, but I like to just relax and rest.  I ended up going to sleep!  I didn’t feel all that great when I got up either.  Ugh.  Sometimes napping does that to me.  Once I was fully awake, it was all good.

These strawberries were super sweet!

I really did like this yogurt!  I only purchased two: Vanilla and Strawberry.  I will definitely have to pick up some more vanilla.  I also added some Cascadian granola and some cinnamon.  This.was.so.good.

So what is on your agenda today?   I am going to get in a morning workout, which I am super excited about and then head into work until 6:00.  It’s also a run day!  My pan is to do 2 miles.  Easy Peasy.  :)

Check ya later!

Yoga? July 11, 2012

How in the world is it Wednesday?  What the heck!  Did I tell you that it’s been raining her for the last couple of days?  It has, and it’s been so nice.  Everything was just about burnt to a crisp!  Um, does it mean I don’t have anything interesting to talk about since I am starting with the weather??  :)

Yesterday was a pretty good day.  Work was……um……work and uneventful.  I am training someone this week and so it’s really testing my brain function.  It’s going pretty well though.  After work, I rushed home to feed the zoo that lives here at the house and to also do another yoga session.  I am really liking yoga right now.  This one was 25 minutes long and it felt amazing once I finished.  Did I do each move like a pro?  No, but it felt amazing!  When I was finished I felt so relaxed and almost tingly.  Does that make sense for you yogi’s out there??

Workout:

Today’s workout will be running!  Everything feels good, so I am going to keep doing it.  Will I run 10 miles tomorrow?  Probably not, but that is ok.  :)  Here are my thoughts with the running and yoga…

  • 3 days a week I will run
  • 3 days a week I will do yoga
  • 2 days a week I will
  • alternate arms and legs

Sound good??  Good. :)

Here are the rest of my eats from yesterday, because I know you are just dying to see them.  :)

Mid-morning snack:

I had some Yoplait Key lime greek yogurt with some gluten-free granola on top.

Lunch:

Agh!!  I just realized that I forgot to take a picture of my salad!!

Afternoon snack:

One juicy clementine

Dinner:

Before you knock it, this was so good!  I took some chicken, organic black beans, and some organic whole kernel corn, add some taco seasoning and heated it up!  I then took these new Joseph mini pitas (50 calories a piece) put some the mixture on each and then I added some shredded cheese and salsa!  Holy cow this hit the spot!   It makes a lot, so I did put some in the freezer for another time.  :)

Night-time snack:

I threw together some gluten-free granola and some semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Onto today’s plan!

I will be continuing to train the new teller that we have hired today and try to not feel so brain-dead.  I didn’t sleep last night…..not sure why, but I didn’t.  Do you ever hear something, or several things, and it just rolls around in your head over and over and over again???  This was the case.  I can remember waking up several times thinking about it….  Get out of there!!  Get out of my head!  :)

Breakfast:

I cooked two eggs in olive oil and cut in half a turkey link.  Instead of having bread (I am having bread at lunch) I opted for some strawberries.  These were really sweet!

The rest of my day you ask?

snack:  cottage cheese and nut butter

Lunch:  Applegate chicken hot dog and an apple

Snack:  If I am hungry I will have a Clementine

Dinner:  Salad with tons of yummy stuff!

Question:  So what is going on with you lately?  Any revelations in your life?

Morning!  I hope that you had a great weekend!  I was so glad to be in church yesterday.  God’s word never fails and it certainly pierced my heart yesterday.  I wasn’t actually going to be there, but I am so glad that I was.  I had been thinking of a certain passage in the bible all weekend and saying to myself, “I just want to worship in church and not care about what others are thinking or what their opinion is of me. “In spirit and in truth.”   And you know what??   The verse was part of the sermon!

I have had some really low thoughts of myself lately.  Some, I think, may have something to do with what is going on in my body, but some are just thoughts of not being good enough.  I already conclude that someone is going to reject me before I meet them.  Crazy I know, but the thought is there.  The last couple of years have been tough for me spiritually and having these thoughts only magnified that.

I am done however, worrying about what people think of me.  What people think of me has no baring on what God thinks of me.  He doesn’t consult someone elses opinion of me before He makes His decision.

John 4:24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

I got to set with some special people this morning…..Hey Bro Joe and Mrs. Sherry!!  Love you guys!

I was so excited to try this new recipe that I found on Courtney’s blog, Sweet Tooth Sweet Life.  She used blood orange chobani greek yogurt, but I didn’t have any of that flavor, so I tried the Lemon.  :)   She also used Orange Cremesicle granola, but all that I had on hand was Udi’s honey flavored.  Another great recipe for these little jewels can be found here:  The Lean Green Bean.

  • 2 Lemon flavored Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup of Udi’s gluten-free granola

Mix both ingredients and then put into a cupcake pan (I used a small one) and then freeze until they set!  They kind of tasted like a key lime pie!

I also had an amazing salad yesterday, for lunch.

  • lettuce
  • spinach
  • roasted turkey
  • strawberries
  • roasted almonds

I was going to add a hard-boiled egg, but completely forgot!

Workout:

To be honest, it’s been really hard to get back into the swing of things with my workouts since my vacation.  I have strictly stuck to running or walking this past week due to my body acting a little weird.  I have had absolutely NO energy what so ever and getting thru a workout has been a little difficult.  I even tried to get thru an Insanity workout and it was a no go.  :(

Today I thought that I would try to do some strength training.  I put in Jillian Michael’s No More Trouble Zones!  I felt really good while doing the workout, but I was really shaky.  In fact, when it came to plank moves I could barely hold myself up!!  Crazy!!

Breakfast:

(recycled photo)  I had 1 egg, egg whites, spinach, half a turkey link, and one tortilla.

I hope you have a great day!
