A night out on the town!

Ok, so I didn’t get into bed until 1:15 or 1:30 this morning.  Whew!  I am way too old to be staying up late!!  With that said, I had such a good time with friends last night.  I warn you, this post will be mostly filled with pictures.  🙂

Hmm where did we leave off?  My boss was off work yesterday, so I was pretty much stuck at work for 10 hours.  It’s such a barrel of fun!  We were busy, so that did make the day go by fast.  I am pretty excited about this quarter.  We have goals that we have to meet and we started off the year pretty strong!  Gooo Team!

Anyway, on to yesterdays lunch.  I warn you, it was a little weird.  I am still in the process of cleaning out groceries.  Yay!!  A trip to Whole Foods!

Steamed green beans, an apple, chicken breast, the last of the black beans (maybe a spoon full), and salsa for the chicken.  It actually was pretty good!  A blog that I really like called The Arty Runnerchick, (hey Cait!) help me consider that I am not taking in enough of the right foods for the level of working out that I am doing.  I really wanted to address that on my lunches.  This meal, to me, will set the tone of dinner.

Even with this, my tummy began to growl around 4:30.  I wanted to reach for some candy, but I opted for this instead.

Round bread, with peanut butter and 70% dark chocolate bits.  Man it was good!

When my friends and I were finally on the road, we headed to Chili’s.  I think that is probably my favorite place to eat out.  Just a note thought, chips and salsa are not free at Chili’s.  Who knew that?  It has been a long time since I have gone out to eat.

We checked out the menu:

…and I went with a sandwich.  I am not sure, but I think it was pretty healthy.  Grilled chicken with lettuce and tomato, a slice of bacon (only ate half), on a wheat bun.  With all of the chips, salsa and Chili’s famous queso, I only managed to get half of the sandwich down.  Oh!  and this came with some steamed broccoli.  Which was SO good!

I tried to get a picture of one of my friends baby daughter, but she would not cooperate!

We also went to Barnes and Noble, one of my favorite places!  I  saw a few things that caught my eye.

I ended up making a couple of purchases:

The Screwtape Letters By C.S. Lewis

and…  The Cost of Discipleship By Dietrich Bonhoeffer

I have heard a lot about the Screwtape Letters and can’t wait to read it.

Today I am headed over to Old Navy to check out their workout clothes.  They’re having a big sale!! 🙂  Then I will go pick up my niece and nephew and we are gonna hang out with the Smurfs.  Probably go by McDonald’s and get them a treat…..shhhh don’t tell their parents.  😉  What’s healthy at McDonald’s again??

Here’s the thing, even though I have a busy day, I am still going to manage to get in a workout.  It’s day 10 of BodyRock baby!

Thanks for the shout out Brandi!! 🙂 i’m so happy u took wat i suggested the right way or didn’t get annoyed…lol. i am SO happy u upped those portions a bit and without trying to scare u, u prolly could even cut urself a little more slack and eat a snack/dessert at night. honestly, if u saw how much i eat u’d be disgusted…i’m a tiny girl but my friends make fun of me and my coach used to joke that i have a hollow leg. 😛 when u’re working out a lot more it takes a bit to adjust mentally. but i’m soooo proud of u and let me know how ur energy levels feel in those upcoming workouts! 🙂

    PS- oh man, my mom almost threw a FIT in chili’s when she found out they no longer gave out the unlimited chips 😛

  2. Lol! Growing up, my brother had the same problem. I swear his legs went on forever! MIne did not. Sill don’t. lol!
    I appreciate the advice SO much! Gonna get my run on in the morning, I will let you know how it plays out. 🙂
    I still couldn’t believe the whole chips and salsa thing!
