Connecting with others

Howdy!  I don’t know about you, but I really love getting my workout done first thing in the morning.  When I got off work this afternoon I was so glad that I had done it and didn’t have to do it when I got home.  It was a good day, but kinda long. 

For the most part I am a social butterfly and don’t have any issues connecting with someone.  I LOVE to make people laugh and I love to laugh myself, but what do you do if there is someone who you may not have a connection with?   How do you approach the situation?  Do you at all? 

I think the first thing that should be done is to examine your own part in it.  Is it something that I might be doing to cause the disconnection?   I know that I am not going to be friends or connect with everyone that I come in contact with, but there are those that you want to build a connection with, but don’t really have anything to build on.  Make sense??  This topic may be coming out of left field, but it has been on my mind today and I had to let it out!  🙂

 

Workout:

Day two, level two, of Jillian’s Ripped in 30

 

 

Lunch:

 

I couldn’t wait to post this picture of my lunch today!  I tried a new recipe from Oatmeal in My Bowl and it is SO good! 

I didn’t exactly go by the recipe mainly because I was cooking for one and didn’t have all of the ingredients, but it’s a really good recipe!

 

Wheat Berry Salad:

  • 1/2 cups of dry wheat berries
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp of EVOO
  • 1 tbsp of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of chopped spinach

Take the first two ingredients and combine in a pot, bring to a boil, turn heat to medium and cook until the water is gone.

In a small skillet add the walnuts and roast over heat for a couple of minutes

Once the wheat berries are done, stir the rest of the ingredients in, let it cool and then put into the refrigerator or eat!

I really loved this recipe!

 

Afternoon snack:

 

I found some new Chobani Greek yogurt!  Lemon!  The verdict??  It.is.good.

A couple of hours later:

I felt like such a busy bee today!  I got so many things accomplished and feel really good about checking some of the things off of my list.

  • purchase new glasses
  • pick up perscription
  • schedule a doctor’s appointment
  • schedule a dentist appointment
  • fill my car up with gas

 

My new glasses will be in hopefully by the end of next week. 🙂  I can’t wait to show you guys! 

Well, I am out!   Still going strong with getting into bed early!  woop!!  

Question:  How do you handle not connecting with someone?

    Thanks for the mention! I am glad you like the salad. Now that I think about the lemon + evoo…wonder if basil would work in this salad, too. Hmmm….

    How are you liking Jillian’s ripped in 30? weeks 1,2, and 4 are good. 3 eh. I think it just wasn’t my game with this one. I hear Shred is good.

    • Oooh, I bet basil would be good in the salad! I have only made it to level two doing the Ripped in 30…….ever. I have yet to ever go past it. That was one of the reasons I wanted to stick with it for the 30 days. Level three and four should be interesting! 🙂 I think once I finish this one, I might try The Shred.

    Maybe the person you don’t feel a connection with is an introvert 🙂 Maybe they would simply rather be alone ..so it probably has nothing to do with you. I am that way…I need lots of space and alone time (although I have a few very close friends who I spend lots of time with) but they do know my boundaries and limitations 🙂
