Time Saver Ideas and cookies!

on March 7, 2012

Hello!   It’s been another productive day!  Today was an early day for me, so when I got up this morning I wanted to start my day with a little quiet time.  This passage of scripture was in my devotion:

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

This is one of  my favorite verses and I find so much comfort in the fact that there is purpose for my life.

Breakfast:

Udi’s Gluten Free multi-grain bread, Justin’s chocolate nut butter, banana, and chia seeds.  Verdict on the Gluten free bread.  Y.U.M.

If you hang around me long enough, you will find out quickly that I am very conscious about time.  Time management skills, I think, is a lost art.  😉   I like things to be organized and in its proper place.  I also like to get things together the night before, so that when I get up in the morning I am not rushing around.  This got me searching out different ways to save on time.   Here is what I found:

  1. Looking for a pen?  Buy a cheap package at the store and put one in every drawer, end-table, and for the ladies…in your purse.
  2. Schedule your next haircut before you leave the salon.
  3. Keep scissors in every room
  4. Buy stamps and address labels in bulk
  5. Order books online
  6. stash lint rollers in every room
  7. Keep a ziplock bag of notes, envelopes and stamps in your car so when you need to send a thank-you note, you have the stuff to do it!
  8. Store your receipts in a designated pocket in your wallet or purse.
  9. avoid movie lines by purchasing your tickets online
  10. Do your banking online
  11. store your ATM/Debit card in a brightly colored case so it is easy to get to
  12. Get your lunch ready the night before
  13. set our your workout clothes next to your bed
  14. Lay out your work clothes for the next day
  15. My favorite: Create a to-do list for the day

Lunch:

Leftover sweet potato fries, and Wheat Berry salad

Workout:

I didn’t get up in time to do my morning workout, so I squeezed it in before church tonight.  Week Two, Level Two of Ripped in 30.  Two more days and I will be on level 3.  I have continued to try to concentrate on my form instead of just rushing the workout.  I have noticed a big difference in my stamina and in my balance.  Level two sticks with the 3-2-1 process.  3 minutes of cardio, 2 minutes of strength and 1 minutes of abs.  One of the cardio sessions is broken down into plank jacks and mountain climbers.  Let me just say that my arms are like jello when I get through!  I have yet to be able to do this for two minutes without stopping and having to catch my breath!

Dinner:

After my workout, I cooled off briefly and then showered, but I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to have for dinner, soooooo I threw together a fat-free hot dog on wheat and some Pop chips.  Holy cow this was the best hot dog I have had in a long time!

I also ate a dark chocolate on the way to church.  85% cocoa

If you remember the list that I made yesterday, you will recall that I made a dentist appointment.  I went on my lunch break and got my teeth nice and clean……I also received some prizes!!

I had a sensitive area on my gums and just to let ya know, this is what happens to you when you get older.  Your gums start to recede.  Agh!  Now I am stocked up on floss, toothpaste, mouthwash, and a new toothbrush.  Cool.

Dessert:

I found this amazing cookie recipe on a new blog that I found called…..  Stuft Mama    Peanut Butter Doughtzel Balls.  They.are.amazing.

Question:  What are some things that you do to save on time?

Great list! I love number one – and I do the same thing with lip balms and mints. I buy my favorite kinds in bulk, and make sure every purse and room is stocked!

  2. We got a 85% cocoa bar and it was too much for us to handle. Too bitter, but maybe it was just the brand.
I am all about organization as well!
