Personal Trainers??

on April 19, 2012

Hey hey!  How was your Thursday!?  I hope it was a good one.  🙂  My day started at 5:50 am.  Odd, I know.  I turned off my alarm and caught a few more zzzz’s.  I enjoyed my breakfast at a nice slow pace and looked at some of my new Sweat Pink Ambassador Sisters blogs.  I still can’t believe that I am apart of such an awesome group of women.

Today was actually an early day for me…..Well, 4:30 anyway.  It was so nice not to work 10 hours and still have some of the day left when I got home.  I received a couple of new workout DVD’s in the mail today and was able to try one!  Jessica Smith’s 10 Pounds Down Weight Loss Cardio Mix.  Whew!  I really like this one.  A lot.  There is a 40 minute cardio session, a 10 minute all over toning, and then an 8 minute abs session.  Killer!

Breakfast:

(recycled photo) Overnight Oats!

Breakfast kept me pretty full, so I didn’t have a mid-morning snack.

Lunch:

Very random: Strawberries, half an apple, 4 chicken nuggets, cottage cheese and walnuts.

A little later…..

Afternoon Snack:

Strawberries and vanilla Greek Yogurt.  Holy yum! This was good!  This will definitely be a repeat.

Dinner:

Banana/Blueberry Smoothie:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1 cup of  35 Calorie Almond milk
  • 1 tbsp flax
  • 1 tbsp of Barney Almond butter
  • A HUGE handful of Spinach!

Personal Trainers:

So here’s the deal.  I was wondering what your thoughts were about seeking out a personal trainer.  Good? Bad?  Have you ever used one?  Is the money spent worth it?  I would love to have at least one session, maybe two, with someone who is personally trained in the fitness/health field.  Any tips before I seek someone out??

Isn’t that cool??  Go Hogs!!

So I have been wanting to try this recipe for a while now…I found it on Stuft Mama’s blog and just knew it was going to be good!

Here is a link to the recipe:  Fudgy STUFT Protein Cookie Dough

This made….

….This!

Let me just say this stuff was and is amazing! 🙂

Got to go wash my face!  Have a great night!! 🙂

  1. I had a personal trainer for a year and recently left her. It was for the best because I felt like I needed to hire a running coach who know, well more about running. She knew really nothing about running nor did she understand my short & long term goals. I am thrilled with the decision I made even though she put some massive pressure on me. I now cross train on my own and still feel great- haven’t lost any muscle. I actually may have gotten stronger without her!

I say get a trainer for a while, but then you should be able to do it on your own. 🙂

    • I love the idea of having a running coach! I think that is the reason I want to seek out some help….I have been doing it on my own since I started. I am hoping that a couple (or more) sessions with someone who is trained will help me. 🙂

I’ve never hired a personal trainer but would love to hear how you find one if you do pursue the option!

Ive seen that PB2 powder peanut butter in my grocery store and I literally read it and sneak away like I’m on Mission Impossible and I can’t let anyone know I checked it out. I can’t figure out how you eat it.

Anyways I’ve never had a personal trainer. I’d love to have one though. If I could afford it I totally would!!!!

Girl, 5:50am is hella early and I cannot comprehend how this was “late” for you. 😉

  4. Oh man that recipe looks mighty tasty. Random lunches are my favorite. They satisfy all of my cravings!

Wow, sooo early! I really like doing a few sessions with a personal trainer now and then to re-energize my workouts. I get stuck in a rut, and love having someone else show me new moves or suggest some different ways to do things.

I’ve always found trainers by asking a class instructor that I like if they do one-on-ones. For example, the instructor in the TRX class I go to does personal training, and since I’ve been going to her classes, I already know that I like her style and connect with her personally. (Fitness should be fun, after all!) 🙂

    Good luck finding someone!

  6. I haven’t ever had a personal trainer – but I’ve been considering a running coach, which is kind of similar? I have no idea how to start looking though, and I’m assuming the search/qualifications needed might be similar! I can’t wait to hear what you find out!

    • I think that is what I am stuck on. How do I “look” for one? We have a gym where I live, but there isn’t anyone there that is “trained” in that lifestyle. I am sure that I will have to go out of town to find someone. 🙂
