Pushing through….

on June 6, 2012

Morning sunshines!  All I can say is that I am preeetty excited that it’s Wednesday!  This means that I only have two actual work days (counting today) before I leave for South Dakota.  🙂

I went to bed really early last night, which was soooo nice.  For some reason, I just felt pretty tired yesterday.  I even considered not doing my Insanity workout!!  Agh!!   However, I did it anyway.  First, I went outside for just a nice walk.  Then I came in and put my Ipod on for some groovy music and just started to dance.  Once I was warmed up, I thought, “why am I going to skip??”

So, I put in the DVD, sucked it up, and did it.  🙂  It felt really good too!!  Push through!!

Back to sleeping…..I was sleeping really well and then my phone rang around 10:45.  It woke me up from a dead sleep and I couldn’t really get back to the same kind of sleep.  I mean, I slept great, but the call startled me.  Don’t ya hate that?

I was in the mood for some oatmeal this morning, but didn’t really want to cook it.  I have some Weight Watchers oatmeal containers, so I boiled some water, added it to the oatmeal, added a scoop of Chocolate dark dreams nut butter and called it good.  🙂  GOOD.

One of my favorite things to eat is Sweet Potatoes.  I love them.  Well, I don’t looooove them.  I sure do like them a whole lot though.  I wanted to share with you why they are important to add to any healthy lifestyle.

Sweet Potatoes:

  • antioxidants
  • anti-inflammatory nutrients
  • blood-sugar regulating nutrients
  • high in vitamin B-6
  • good source of Vitamin C
  • contain Vitamin D
  • iron
  • good source of Magnesium
  • good source of potassium
  • high in carotenoids (like beta carotene)
  • they are just down right delicious

One of my favorite ways to make them is to cut them into wedges, drizzle some olive oil on them, and the sprinkle some rosemary to add a cool flavor.  Bake them in the oven until brown.  Yum!

I am off to get ready for work!  Have a great day!! 🙂

  1. Yum!! I just picked up two sweet potatoes at the grocery store, I’m normally a white potatoes gal, but I’m looking forward to mixing it up!

  2. Sweet potatoes are AMAZING in any way, shape, or form!

  3. I am slowly getting on to sweet potatoes but I am not a huge fan, I prefer squash.

yay for still doing that workout! I wish I could have gone to bed early last night… I’m exhausted today.

I do hate that with sleep! It’s so startling – glad you managed to get a good night despite it. And I’m with you on sweet potatoes, they are one fantastic vegetable!
