Weekend Happenings

on July 21, 2012

Hey hey!!    Whew!  It’s been a busy week!  Sorry for the sporadic blogging.  Sometimes it’s really hard to get a post in when you a)leave your computer at work, b) put in an extra late night at work, c) only have a couple of hours until your bed time to fit everything in.  🙂   Just once, it would be cool if there were just a few more hours in the day.  I have also been working on mowing the yard the last couple of days.  (still not finished)  Um, it’s super hard to mow in 100+ degree weather.  Whew!

The one good thing?  I am off today!!   For once, I don’t have a list to run down.  Well, except finishing the lawn.  It’s supposed to be another hot day, so I am good with staying in.  I will at least get a run in this morning.  Did I mention that I have really enjoyed running lately?  I have!  Taking it really slow as to not injure myself.

I found this great article by Kara Goucher on the Runners World website.  🙂    Do I want to be an Olympian?  No………Although…… 🙂     This list really made and makes it simple for me.  It was straight and to the point and from someone who knows what they are talking about.

One of my favorite running blogs is Cait’s at Cait Chock The Arty Running Chick.

Meal Plan:

Breakfast:    Egg burrito/turkey bacon

Snack:    Clementine

Lunch:    Salad/half an apple

Snack:    half of a banana

Dinner:    chicken/sweet potatoes/brocoli

Snack:    Smores with dark chocolate

This last week has just been a blur to me.  Frankly, the last month has been a blur.  I am busy at work, I am busy when I get home.  I want to enjoy today and enjoy every moment.  I am drinking my coffee and just watching the sun hit everything.  Yes, it’s hot, but I love that I can see everything.  In recent events, my heart is heavy for the families experiencing the loss of a loved one, the frustrations of not understanding, the anger that must already be building.  I can’t imagine experiencing something of this magnitude.  My thoughts and prayers surround the families and all people’s involved.

Take time today to tell the people in your life that  you love them.  Be nice.  Smile.  Genuinely care about people.  Hug a stranger.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

**If you have outside animals, please make sure that they have fresh water and that they can get to it.**
