Figuring it out

on August 1, 2012

Morning peeps!  I hope that this Hump Day is going to be fantastic for you!  I actually love Wednesdays.  Just two more days until the weekend!  This Saturday we are having a Block Party at my church for the kiddo’s in our community.  We are going to be doing lots of super cool things, handing out school supplies, and teaching them about Christ.

I also have plans Friday night to go hang out with a friend and watch Step Up Revolution.  I cannot wait!!  I am bringing my dancing shoes.  I really am.  I mean, I should have gotten a call to be in the movie, I am not sure why I didn’t.  I must have been in a dead zone or something.  He he.  :p

Meal Plan:

Breakfast:   Egg, toast, turkey bacon

Snack:   cherries (cause I love ’em!)

Lunch:    Smoothie

Snack:   clementine

Dinner:   chicken, veggies, apple

Snack:   smores

Workout:

Gettin my run on this morning!   On the schedule?  2.5 miles.  I am going to head to my friend’s house to use  her treadmill.  Ahh, I love it.

I wanted to share with you what was in my devotion yesterday morning.  I really love this…

I am with you always.  These were the last words that I spoke before ascending into heaven.  I continue to proclaim this promise to all who will listen.  The fact that I am with you makes every moment of your life meaningful.

I love the fact that He was thinking of me when the world was being created, while He was on the Cross, and before He went to Heaven.  It give me so much purpose and tells me I have a huge responsibility when it comes to living my life.

How to find the right exercise program:

I am no expert and I am not a personal trainer, but I am the only one that knows my body.  For the last, oh good Lord, 6 to 8 months I have struggled with a few things concerning my diet and exercise.  Finding out that my Vitamin D was really low was a huge weight off of my mind.  It’s not what it should be, but I know it can only get better.  During that time, I couldn’t seem to find out what worked for me anymore.  Which was really frustrating, because I thought that it was easy for me.  It’s not.  :/   Anyhoo, I tried several different things and nothing seemed to work.  I just wanted to throw my hands up and scream like a little kid!  To be honest, reading all of these blogs can sometimes have an opposite effect on me.  I love the ones that I follow and can’t wait to read them…..daily……..But, I want to be myself and I was finding myself less than stellar after I would read them.  After reading Courtney’s post on her blog the other day, it got me to thinking.  I don’t want to portray that living this lifestyle is easy.  I struggle just like the next person when it comes seeing what works for me and what doesn’t.  I struggle with motivation, focus, and making good choices when it comes to food.

I wanted to share with you some of the things that I look for in an exercise program.

  • Set some goals.  Setting some goals can actually help you determine what program you chose.  Lose weight, tone, strengthen and even gain weight.
  • Seek out a professional.  I haven’t done this yet, but I really want to.  I had forgotten that a friend of mine had introduced me to a personal trainer a while back.  I saw something on Facebook about her and so I thought that I would shoot her a message to see if I could meet with her!  She said sure!!  She owns a Curves now, but she said that I could definitely come there and she would talk to me……and workout!
  • Know your limits.  Don’t feel bad if all that you can do is walk.  Walking is one of the most beneficial exercises that you can do.  I love it personally and you can really think about things when you do it.
  • Determine if you want to join a gym or stick to your home.  I personally love working out at my home….Mainly due to the fact that I have privacy.  With that said, I do think that working out with a group or surrounding yourself with like-minded people could motivate you.
  • Make a plan to get the workout in.  I am a true believer that we have more time to fit a 30 minute workout in than we think that we do.  You just have to make up your mind to do it.  Think about how bad you want to do it and what you want to accomplish.
  • Don’t forget to love yourself.  Take one day at a time and don’t be so hard on yourself.

**I in no way want to push my ideas on anyone.  These are just my opinions and what has worked for me.  It’s so important to find out what works for you and run with it! 🙂 **

I hope you have a great day!

Setting goals and knowing your limits are things that work for me too 🙂 And I’m also low in Vit D (or was – now ok) – it’s super common I think! I hope your levels get sorted out quickly.
