Rain, coffee, and a concert

on August 18, 2012

Ahhh, rain.  I love the sound of it.  It nourishes the ground, the trees, flowers….it’s great.  The thunder however, not so much.  🙂  I didn’t get to sleep before we had a storm start here and it was like 1:00 a.m. before I remember getting there.  Then it started again.

With the busy day that I have planned, I really needed sleep…:)   Oh well, I can always load up on some coffee.  🙂  One of the things that I am so super stoked about is that the church that I attend is putting on a community Contemporary Christian concert tonight!!  My brother works with the youth and has worked really hard this past year developing some ideas to unify the youth in our community.  Who doesn’t love a concert!?  Devin Williams is his name and we couldn’t be more excited about it!  We are also feeding the youth and the other churches and parents that come to the concert.

Today’s Plan:

  1. get started on painting my bedroom
  2. run to town to pick up (forgotten) food essentials
  3. come back home to prepare (forgotten) food essentials
  4. workout
  5. paint some more
  6. head up to the church to meet the band
  7. help serve up the food to the youth/adults that come to concert

Somewhere in there I need to make sure I eat and use the bathroom.  He he.

We got a visit from a former co-worker yesterday!  And her baby!!

Isn’t he a doll??!!!

I also had a lunch-date yesterday with my sister-n-law!  We met up at a local place called The Cottage and had a wonderful time.  We both had the same thing…..chicken salad sandwich, chips and a pickle.

Isn’t this place cool??!   The young girl behind the counter probably thinks I am a weirdo.  I am!!!

Lynn (SNL) is a school teacher and she is getting ready for the kiddo’s next week, so she brought some homework. 🙂

I think I could have made lunch just out of the pickle alone.  Yum!

Humungo cookie!

It was a fun time!  and nice to catch up with one of my favorite people.  🙂

Right now, I am enjoying this.

I will probably be out for the weekend and end up unplugging, so I hope you have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend!

What have you got planned today?   Resting?  Busy day?
