time of Reflection

Good Morning Friends!   It’s Thursday!  It’s already been exciting in my household this morning.  My crack head of a cat decided to use the bathroom on my book bag!  I don’t know if you have ever had this problem with a cat, but goodness gracious!  You cannot get the smell of cat urine out of anything.  You basically just have to throw it away.  Crack head.

 

 

Elf 4 Health Challenge:

 

Get up 15 minutes early to meditate and reflect. 

 

This is something that I actually do everyday.  I love getting up early enough to get this in.  It gives me a chance to wake up and enjoy my first cup of coffee before my day starts.  It also gives me a chance to just be with my thoughts.  Thoughts about the day ahead.  Thoughts about the day before.

One English muffin with some skinny cow strawberry cream cheese.  I also had a couple of eggs.  Smile  Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day!

Courtney’s Toffee Chocolate Crispy Cookies

Hello hello!   You know, I really love half days.  Yes, I do have to work on Saturday’s to get them, but I love getting off early during the week.  Smile  

 

Did any of you guys watch Dancing with the Stars??!!

 

**SPOILER ALERT!!**

 

 

I was so excited to see that Tony finally won a mirror ball!!  Bless his heart, he has been on every season and has never won, but when they called out his and Melissa’s name last night I was so excited for him!!  He deserves it!

 

 

Work:

 

So I have some exciting work news to tell you about.  Yesterday I got an e-mail from one of our regional managers asking if I would call him when I got a chance.  I had been at lunch when he sent the e-mail so I got right on it.  He asked me if I could meet with him and one of our upper management ladies (for privacy’s sake I won’t give out names) for lunch.  Ahhh, sure!!

When you get asked to one of these lunches, one of two things are going to happen……. “it’s been nice knowing you”  or  “we like you!”

 

It was the latter. 

 

 

Long story short, I will be going to work at another branch!  I am really excited about it too.  For a while now I have felt like I needed a change and waited patiently for this moment.  It won’t be as close as where I am now, but I am ok with that.  Also at the lunch was the manager of the branch, so it was nice to go ahead and get that meeting out of the way.  He is really nice and I look forward to working with him.  I really do think that we are going to make a good team. 

 

This is a positive move!

 

 

 

Workout:

 

I had a speed drill today and I couldn’t wait to get on the treadmill when I got home.

This is why I love having a running coach!  When I e-mailed/texted Cait to tell her that I was feeling better and well enough to run I told her that I was just going to do the most recent schedule that she sent to me.  She is so awesome!  She, putting me first, modified my schedule even more so that I wouldn’t just jump right back into running since I was off an entire week.  I love her!

Just Drop ‘Em a note.

Happy Tuesday!    All that I can say is that it’s been an interesting day.  Smile  I got up this morning feeling great!  I was so glad too! 

 

I felt so great that I went for a run!

 

 

2 Mile Run:   

Mile One:    8.48

Average pace:    8.43

 

 

I really felt great during this run…..and when I was finished.  It felt good to actually get my heart rate up and to get my sweat on.

I really loved today’s challenge!   Send a card or a handwritten note to a friend.  I picked my close friend Diahann.  She recently moved to Ohio with her husband and extended family and I miss her terribly!!  So, I picked up a card so that I could send her a note to tell her how much I appreciate her.

I was pretty hungry when I got home and wouldn’t ya know it my mom had fixed dinner.  Okra, corn on the cob, lima beans, and minute steaks.  This totally hit the spot!

 

 

It’s been a good day, but I am ready to call it a night.  I have a candle lit, comfy clothes on, and Dancing with the Stars is about to come on.  It’s the small things that makes me smile.  Smile

You can never go wrong with sweet potato’s

So today’s first challenge in the Elf 4 Health Challenge is coming to an end! Meatless Monday: to be honest, not having any meat today wasn’t all that difficult.  Smile   

 

Dinner would be the only meal that I actually had to put some thought into, but you can never go wrong with sweet potato’s.

It can be a friend that you haven’t talked to in a while, or one that you hang out with all of the time.  It can also be a family member or someone from your church.

I think that today is the first day in two weeks that I am actually feeling better……….and mean it.  I was a little tired when I got up this morning, but right now I feel good. 

As far as running goes, I am a little bummed out that I haven’t been able to run.  Today would have been a rest day with stretching and core work so I am going to treat it as such.  I am going to follow the last schedule that Cait sent to me and see what happens.

Tomorrow will be an easy two miles.

Meatless Monday

Morning!  How was your weekend?   Mine was pretty low-key.  It turns out that I was sicker than I thought and this stuff has hung on for a week now.  I even tried running Saturday, but could barely tweak out 2 miles.  This pretty much sucks.  :/   I feel ok, but I have this horrible cough and can even get pretty choked up once I start coughing.  If I am not better by tomorrow, I am going to have to head to the doctor.

 

 

Meatless Monday:

 

I will tell you that, sickness aside, I am pretty excited to be participating in the Elf 4 Health Challenge the next six weeks.  Part of the challenge is that we are paired with another person so that we can help and encourage each other throughout the week.

The first challenge that we will be doing is going meatless all day Monday.  I have never done this on purpose, but I don’t think that it’s going to be too hard.

 

Breakfast:   1 egg, one waffle, and half an apple

Snack:    yogurt

Lunch:    black bean quesadilla’s

Snack:    half an apple almond butter

Dinner:    sweat potato, broccoli, carrots

Snack:    peaches
