Taking a fall

on November 10, 2012

Hey there, how’s it going?    I hope that you have had a great Saturday!

I had the best day hiking and hanging out with my family.  Smile

Before I get into that, let me tell you about my run this morning.  I set my alarm for 5:00 a.m. this morning because I wanted to get my run in early this morning.  Today’s run was another speed drill!  3 Miles!

So as I do before every run, I start with a simple warm-up by walking.  This should be real simple right??   Well, I just happened to look down and there was this spider on the treadmill.  If there is one thing that I don’t like, it’s spiders.  It was just hanging there making it’s way down to the floor.  Then something happened.  I completely forgot that I was on the treadmill and just stopped walking and tried to step off.  Um, this was not a smooth transition at all.  I busted my “A” right there on the treadmill!!  The belt kept going and hitting my knees and left arm!!  If I could have been on the outside looking at myself, I am sure that I would have laughed!!

I have two bruises on my left knee with a couple of cherry burns and then one bruise on my right.  Dork.

This is my first time to fall on the treadmill and the first time that I have fallen on a run.  Lol!

3 Mile Speed Drill:

Mile One:    9.11

Mile Two:    8.35

Mile Three:    8.31

Total time:    26:21

Average Pace:    8.45

389 401

445 447

This may seem like an odd picture, but it’s actually the burial place of the young girl that the Mountain was named after.  Adrienne Dumont.  You can find the story……..  here.

It was a really good day!   But, I have to say that I am very very very sore and tired.  When I came home, I actually felt bad.  Maybe it was a combination of the fall and all the moving around today, but whew!

I think a hot shower and an early night is in order.

I hope you guys have a great night!
