A Christmas Party!

on December 15, 2012

It’s been a busy weekend so far!   I had to work today and then we had our Christmas party… Smile  We were going to all bring a dish and have a potluck and then exchange gifts, but we ended up doing something else.  There were still gifts exchanged, but we ended up going out to lunch.

One of the things that I have really enjoyed where I work at now is the camaraderie.  I have also enjoyed the customers and let me tell ya, they have some loyal ones!!  There has been so many things dropped off this past week…..cookies, fudge, cakes, you name it.  We had one customer want to pay for our lunch so he got with our manager and told us to pick a place and it would be on him.  So we did!

This was so much fun!!  We started off with some soup and salad…

Then we moved onto some fried rice

This was so good!

It’s funny, we ended up running into two other co-workers (different branches)!

After we went our separate ways, I headed to do a little Christmas shopping.  Um, so did everybody else.  Winking smile  Traffic was a little thick.

I did manage to get a few things and I am pretty sure that all I need is two more.

My last stop..

Whew!   They were busy!!

The last few days have been really…..I don’t even know if there is a word to describe the feelings that a lot of us must be having.  The horror of someone taking another’s life is horrible, but when it’s children there is a whole other level of sadness.  Many times the last few days I have just broke down and cried thinking of the little lives that were lost.  Even today on my way home this song came on the radio and I just cried and cried.  I can’t even begin to understand or know what someone goes through when they experience such a loss, but I can pray for them.  It’s just so so sad.  My thoughts and prayers go out to this community and to the families involved in this tragedy.

Tonight as I was eating dinner with my parents we talked about some of our favorite Christmas movies.  Traditional, family oriented ones won, but I just really enjoyed setting there having that moment with them.

Today is my 1 year anniversary!!  Today my blog is one year old!   Thank you so much for this past year…. For following, commenting, your kind words, your words of advice.  All of it.  Being apart of the blog world is one of the coolest things ever!

Congratulations on your one year blog anniversary! And what a lovely new workplace you’ve joined – having such loyal customers must be a good reflection 🙂

The shooting news was so awful, especially at this time of year. I feel fortunate to be a bit removed from it in Australia but it’s still horrible.
