No Better Way

Morning my sweet friends!  Whew!!  I thought that Monday would never end!  I didn’t have the best attitude either, which can make for a long day.  It also rained.  Like a lot.  Made for a dreary day… I was even supposed to workout when I got home, but I opted for a rest day instead.  I also wanted to curl up with a blanket and talk to my Kevin.  You are going to be sick of me saying that, but he really does make my heart skip a beat.

 

On the food front, I am pretty much eating the same thing.  I am a creature of habit so this doesn’t bother me, but when you are forced to eat soups because you can’t really chew a lot it kind of takes the fun out of being that creature.  Winking smile

My morning consists of oatmeal and almond butter.  My snacks are usually a banana.  My lunch will forever be soup. And my dinners have been chili my dad made.  I am thinking that I might make me some eggs to take for my lunch today.  You know, be radical and change things up!

 

 

Workout:

 

5 rounds of

20 jumping jacks

10 sit ups

 

Run One mile

 

 

No Better Way:

 

After ending my night the best way that I know how, I was thinking of other ways……other awesome ways…..to end my day.

 

  • Watching an old movie
  • Reading a great book
  • Talking to a great friend
  • going to bed early
  • snuggled up to your favorite pet
  • drinking coffee with a friend
  • baking (especially banana bread)

 

What are some ways that you like to end your day??

 

 

This also got me thinking of some of my favorite workouts…. Smile

 

 

My Favorite Workouts:

 

  • Running.  I love running.  I really do….it doesn’t always love me, but I love how it makes me feel and how it makes me push myself beyond my limits
  • DVD’s.  One of my favorite DVD’s is Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred.

  • Tabata style workouts.  These types of workouts consist of just a few (maybe up to 5 or 6) workout moves that you perform for 20 seconds on and then 10 seconds off.  I have also seen a few tabata workouts that go for longer…  60 seconds on 30 seconds off.  My favorite instructor is probably Amy Dixon.
  • Walking.  I love pushing myself, but sometimes just a nice walk will do.
  • Zumba.  Ahh, if you have never tried this, you really should!  If you like to dance, and I do, it Zumba allows you to get your groove on aaaand sweat.
  • A good hike.
  • Crossfit at home workouts.  Here’s the thing with Crossfit.  It intimidates the mess out of me, but I am not opposed to finding some at-home workouts that would be considered CF workouts.

    Omg I LOVE Amy Dixon! When exercise tv used to exist, I would do her videos all the time. Her workouts were great, and I’ve missed her stuff a lot. I had no idea she had her own website and whatnot! Bookmarked and ready for perusal later 🙂 My favorite workouts include running, walking, and yoga…and I like that you took a rest day yesterday 🙂 Sometimes that’s the best thing to do on a blah rainy night!

  2. There are lots of things related to CF that you can do at home with no weights that will still give you a good workout. I love CF and would love it even more if I could go more often.

  5. I love the idea of snuggling up to your favorite pet!! One of my cats is a cuddler so I take full advantage in the evening! 🙂

    I think that in the end, walking is my absolute favorite workout. I’m so excited for Spring to get here so I can start going on a walk around the neighborhood each evening again!
