Taking a Walk

Howdy friends!  Winking smile    Morning to you!  Ahh, Monday.  I was just dreaming about you.  I really was.  I’ve missed you.  You always start my week off and I was wanting to do something nice for you……….Said no one ever.  Since purchasing the tickets to Washington to see my sweet sweet man, I am just wishing the time away.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to miss any opportunity to live, but I cannot wait to see Kevin.  Just 47 days to go baby! 

 

 

Sunday’s workout:

 

30 minute walk. 

 

 

Walking:

 

  1. Walking fast or running burns more calories per mile than walking at a moderate or easy pace.   Speed has only a small effect on the calories burned.  If you walk briskly for a mile or run a mile, you burn about the same calories. 
  2. Walking doesn’t do any good.  You need to exercise harder.  Walking can actually be a lifelong exercise that you can do for a long time.  Studies show that if you walk 30 to 60 minutes a day at a moderate pace, you can reduce major health risks substantially.
  3. Walking can also be better for you joints. 
  4. Run or Walk?  True when you run, you burn the calories fast in a shorter time.  But that’s something that you can decide on your own.  If you like to run, run.  If you don’t like to run, walk.  Walking can still be beneficial.
  5. Fewer injuries.  Walking is easier on the joints, but a walker will also have fewer injuries a runner might have. 

 

 

Sometimes I can get caught up in getting my workout in and finished quickly.  I think slowing down and enjoying a walk can be really beneficial to you and to those around you.  I can’t wait to take walks with my man.  That’s something that I really want to share with him.  Taking time for each other and just enjoying each others company.  Talking even.  Smile

Well, due to the time change now I didn’t get up at my usual time.  I am running a bit behind!!  Agh!  Winking smile

  2. Quinoa turkey burgers sound delish!
    I need to incorporate more walking in my days. Although I exercise, my job is pretty sedentary. I am going to try and do a few laps!

    I may have mentioned this once or twice, but I love walking 🙂 Got to do lots yesterday to get some errands done and took a walk with the boys a bit ago, which was fabulous..we all loved getting some fresh air for once!

  5. Quinoa burgers have me intrigued! And I really love walking as a way of relaxing and as an activity you can share…running is great for fitness / activity but walking has benefits too 🙂
