This Summer

on August 23, 2013

I am so glad that today is Friday.  Not only is it the weekend, but it means we get to start another week on the right foot!  My braces are still causing my teeth to hurt a bit, but at least I don’t want to rip my teeth out anymore.

With Fall fast approaching, I have been thinking about how much I have enjoyed this Summer.   How much change this summer brought about.  How my focus shifted from feeling so insecure, to not worrying about things.  About excepting myself for who I am and not stressing about a number on a scale.  Stop worrying about what others think of me and living my life anyway.

There have been lots of hikes.

I was able to see the ocean for the first time

There was bowling

There’s been lots of reading

There’s been lots of baking

There have been hang out parties with these two

There was my first race

There was a Class Reunion

There have been new workouts

There have been summer drinks

I swear if Summer could have a taste, this would be it!

I’ll be honest, going into this season of Summer I wasn’t sure how things were going to go.  We all experience seasons in our lives and they sometimes can take our breath away.   What I realized was that knowing how things were going to go this summer was not something I needed to figure out.  I just had to live my life.

Not just existing in life, but living in it.

Taking care to notice things around me that make me smile.

Focusing on the positive

Stealing moments of solitude

Hoping in a future

A good future

Loving myself enough to take deep breaths

Living in each moment

Life really is beautiful.  This past Summer (even though it’s not over yet) has been a great one!  I can’t wait to see what Fall brings!

What about you?  How has your Summer been so far?

  1. Sounds like you’ve had an amazing summer and done a ton of things!! That’s awesome!! 🙂 I can’t believe it’s already going to be September next week!

Looks like you’ve had such a lovely summer. Congrats on your first race, may there be many more to come. 🙂

  3. Looks like a wonderful, wonderful summer 🙂 Also, mot stressing over the scale has been one of the hardest things I’ve had to do over the past couple of months. I really let it control me for far too long (a good year or so) and it really made an impact on whether or not my day went well. Kind of pathetic – I know! Anyways, I stopped regularly weighing myself about three months ago and have had a healthier perspective ever since! I know you can do the same!!

    • That’s awesome! Weighing ourselves is such a double edged sword! Thankfully, I didn’t weigh myself everyday, but when I would I would let it dictate my day and that is so bad. Now I hardly ever weigh myself…..unless I am at the dr. 🙂

  4. Love all the pics! 🙂 Looks like a perfect summer ♥
