Faith Fitness and Laughter

Hello amazing people!  I hope your Thanksgiving week has been an excellent one!  I am off tomorrow and Thursday this week and my best friend from Ohio is coming in and I’m just a little excited.  Her family is here where I live but I’m pretty sure she is here just to see me!  😉

She doesn’t like her picture to be taken but I am going to sneak some in this holiday season.

This was me.  This morning.  Lol!  I woke up at my normal time this morning but goodness gracious this is what I felt like!

Oh it’s been such a long couple of weeks!   It’s so dark when I get off work and with the weather being really cold lately, it just makes me sleepy.  🙂

With Thanksgiving coming up in just a couple of days, I wanted to share with you some of the things that I am thankful for.

I mean there are lots of things that I am thankful for but these are some of the special ones.

1.   My niece and nephew.  Now it goes without saying that I love them to the moon and back but they really are amazing kids.  Sometimes I am in awe of their kindness and abilities.  They make me laugh every time I get around them and when we have sleepovers, I think I get more excited than they do!

2.     My job. Nearly a year ago, I found myself in a position where I might not even have one but amazingly everything worked out and ultimately for the better.

3.   Family.  I can honestly say I don’t know what I would do without my family.

4.   Change.  I am so thankful that God doesn’t allow us to stay in the same place.  We may not always understand why the change is happening but it is always out of His love for us.  I have had change occur where I had no doubt what He was trying to show me and then there are those times that I just had no clue as to why they change must happen.  Relationships, friendships, occupations, church, all of it.

We need only to look to His Word to figure it out.  To understand why there is a renewal happening in us all the time.

5.   Who I am.  It’s so important to have to feel that you have a purpose.  That you mean something and more importantly, that you mean something to someone.  If you are here, then you have purpose.  Purpose that you can see and purpose beyond your wildest dreams.

So I am sure that you are going to be planning meals and doing lots of baking and cooking.  I pray that you are with family and that you feel love.  I’ll be spending today with my best friend with lots of girl talk and donuts and coffee!

But first…… A workout and some chocolate Shakeology!

What are you big plans today and for Thanksgiving?

Bring it, Monday

Happy Monday to you!  I hope your day started off with something amazing and fantastic!

I had a wonderful weekend with my mom and the kiddos.

The order of stops:

  • JCP
  • Target
  • Kirkland’s
  • Wal-mart
  • Chick-fil-A
  • Home!

Our order at Chick-fil-A was nearly $30!!!  My mom looked at me and said, “they have $30 chicken???”  We order for two adults and two children and when the little lady handed me the bag, it was super heavy.  Of course they were very very busy so we just drove toward home.  My mom got to looking in the bag and realized that they charged us for six six-piece chicken nuggets instead of two.  No wonder!!  We did receive them so we just took them home and had the for a snack later.

Later that night the kids and I watched Meleficent.  Have you seen that movie yet??

So good!!  I was a little concerned as to whether or not they would like it but they really did!

Last night my lil man was super clingy.  He loves his human.  🙂  Lately, he’s been getting under the cover and actually going to sleep curled up next to me.  He’s been through a lot with me!

Kate, from Kate Moving Forward shared this on Facebook and it just happens to be one of my favorite passages.  What reassurance!  I mean I have to usually just take it day by day but when it comes right down to it, He has it all worked out.  And He loves us so very much.

This morning I got up at 4:30 and couldn’t wait to get my workout in!  Hey…..I’ll take it as it comes.  Most mornings I have to drag myself out of bed to get going.  I did my Piyo, which I love, and it felt great!

I love the way that it makes me feel after the workout is complete.  If you haven’t heard of it, you really must check it out!

Welp, got to run!  I hope you had a great day!!

Weekend Happenings

You know, I just love the weekends.  I love that we get to relax a little before we start our next week.    It’s kind of like a new start in a way 🙂

And I am aaaaall about new starts!

I can’t believe this month is halfway over and that Christmas is nearly here.  I don’t know about you but I am so not ready for the next few shopping days that we have left.

This is from last Christmas!  I can’t believe how little my niece and nephew are in this photo!!

I know they probably look the same to you but man time sure does fly!

What are your plans this weekend?

I am going to spend today with my mom and the kiddos doing a little shopping and I am sure I will bake something… 🙂

I would also like to organize my closet some.  The weather changed so drastically here in Arkansas that I haven’t had time to really go through my winters clothes and get them ready.  Plus I am not sure of the winter shoes that I have either.

I want to try a new recipe.  Something with pumpkin I am sure.

Paint my toe nails.

Plan my meals

Plan my workouts

Have some quiet time that doesn’t actually include the tv and instagram.

Dance 🙂

My brother at our Harvest Party we had a few weekends ago…..  Don’t you love that look?  He looks just like my dad!  And let me say this….I haven’t gotten that look from my dad.  Several times.

My mom and I are going to check out Kirkland’s holiday decor on our outing.   I l.o.v.e. that store!

I am hoping to pick up a few groceries today too.  I’m in desperate need of some fruit!

What’s your favorite fruit?

In no particular order, here are some of my favorites:

  • apples
  • banana
  • Clementine
  • pineapple
  • strawberries
  • grapes (both red and green)
  • cherries

Just a few things….

Apples:  They have to be cold and crispy!

Bananas:  Very very yellow.  No brown and certainly not green.

Cherries:  Rainier all the way!

Just a little cat humor 🙂

Have an amazing day!

A Recipe and Goals

Thank goodness it’s Friday!  I don’t know about you but I always like it when a Friday comes rolling around.  Then there’s Saturday!

I wanted to share a recipe with you today!  What kind you ask?

Dessert of course!!

Pumpkin Spice chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake bars

I found the recipe on Pinterest and couldn’t wait to make it.  I am not a huge fan of baking with cream cheese but I really did like these.  The cream cheese didn’t mix all of the way but they still tasted really good.

  • 2 1/2 cups of gingersnaps
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) of unsalted butter (melted)

  • 2 packages of cream cheese (softened)
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of pumpkin (not pie filling)
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Cookie dough:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter at room temp
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of granulate sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 2 tbsp of almond milk
  • 3/4 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips

I baked in a 9×13 glass pan that was lined with parchment paper at 350 for 31 minutes.  Bake until the edges are brown and the center is still a bit wiggly.  Once it is completely cooled, store in the refrigerator for at least 3 to 4 hours or overnight.

I really loved this recipe and I really loved incorporating pumpkin in it.  The cream cheese didn’t blend like I wanted it to but I think it was my mixer.  I am definitely going to make this again!

I had an appointment in Little Rock yesterday morning but had just enough time to swing by and get some coffee.  Win!

So yesterday I was asked the question, “what are your current goals?”

For a second I was like…… “um, I don’t know”

I mean when I graduated high school I thought that I would wait a year before I went to college and then I didn’t end up going at all.  I got a job at a local fast food place where I live and I have had a job ever since.

As I started thinking about some of the goals that I have made or wanted to make, it dawned on me that I am a “goal breaker”.  I have decided to do lots of things but most of the time I don’t follow through.

I would love to own a bakery.

Lose 25 pounds.

Become a health coach.

Complete one.single.nutrition.program.

Get out of debt.

Start sewing again.

My question to myself is this, “what am I doing to actually reach those goals?”

Do you ever feel like you drop a goal and never push through to meet it?

Have a wonderful day!!

On Fear

Hi ya’ll!   I hope that you enjoyed your Veterans Day!   I spent the day with my parents and drinking hot cocoa.   I don’t know about you but I am loving the temperatures where I live.  It was rainy, cold and windy Tuesday but it made drinking hot cocoa much more fun.  Weird, I know.

Being off for the holiday has will have my week off a bit.  Yesterday felt like Monday.  Again.

This holiday season I am trying new dessert recipes and as you know, baking makes me happy!

Chocolate Swirl Pumpkin Bread with an Orange Glaze

I really love this quote.

Mainly because it really does speak the truth.  Oh how I wish that this was not something that I struggled with.  I mean we all have things that we struggle with but this is a big one for me.  I believe what it boils down to is fear.

Fear of the unknown.

I have allowed fear to rule in my life for so long that I really can’t tell the difference anymore.  I don’t know about you but I am kind of tired doing that.  I want to be finished with giving fear that kind of power over me.

I am not afraid of everything mind you.  It’s just in certain things that I allow it to lead my life and decisions.  Living in fear of something doesn’t allow God to use us to our full capability.

This quote is from Lisa Whittle and I found it through the Facebook account for Proverbs 31 Ministries.

The truth is, I am sick of me.

I am sick of being afraid.  I am sick of being hot and cold or God, depending on my circumstances.  I am sick of wrestling with the same things I’ve wrestled with for most of my life.

I want to be well.  I want to be productive and joyful.  I want to be useful for the Kingdom, valuable to my family, and have something to show of my time on earth.

When I meet God one day, I want to say with open hands, here’s what I did with the life You gave me.

I want God.  I want Him to show up tangibly in me.  I want Him to blow me away with insights and remind me that He is bigger than all my daily crazy.  I want Him to sweep me off my feet and take me on one of His many amazing adventures.

It is not a bad thing when we are sick of ourselves.  It is, in fact, a good thing.  Because that’s when we will desire God in such a big way that we are willing to let go of the steering wheel of our life and let God drive us into our future.

How amazing is that?

Don’t you want that?

I don’t know about you but I really do want that.  There is so much faith and strength in stepping out and giving God full reign in your life.

I want this and I want to be healthy.  I believe that when you are healthy on the inside, it shows up on the outside.  And no, not in skinny jeans. It just shows.

Have an amazing day!
