Life, So Far

It’s been a very long time since I last posted and to say that so much has happened since then is an understatement.  I would probably say that I am also a different person.

I would love to compile a list of things that have happened since I last posted but that would take too long and I wouldn’t really know where to begin.  One of the major things that has taken place and what’s caused me to want to funnel my energy into the blog again, is that my mom passed away.

Here she is with her babies, Emma and Sophie

I really can’t even put it into words or express my feelings in regards to the loss of my mom. I really thought that this part of my life was a long way off.  I mean how do you say goodbye to this person that has loved you even before you were born.

My mom was my biggest fan.  She was the one that was always on my side and on my team.  The one that encouraged me and told me that I was beautiful.  She was the one that, even at 42, I would still lay across her lap and hug her.  I thought I would have more time with her.  It feels so foreign and strange not having her here and going through some of her things sucks the life out of me.

My parents were married for 47 years and I am so thankful that God put them together.

I am so thankful for the memories that I have with her and of her.  I am thankful for the example of a Proverbs 31 Woman and what she taught me about putting Christ first.

I love you mom and I miss you so much.

Smooth-ie Kind of Saturday

When it comes to smoothies, I can be a creature of habit.  One of my favorites is the gingerbread smoothie!

  • 1 scoop of chocolate Shakeology (or any chocolate protein mix)
  • cinnamon 1/2 tsp
  • ginger 1/4 tsp
  • chia seeds 1tsp (add zero flavor/added for extra protein)

The other day on my lunch break I decided to head to Tropical Smoothie and try their detox smoothie…

It was actually really really good!  I was a bit hesitant because I didn’t really want it to taste well, green.  lol! 🙂

I liked it so much that I had to make one of my own!!

  • just over a cup of water
  • handful of baby kale
  • handful of spinach
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of frozen cubed mango’s
  • chia seeds
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of ginger

I really loved it and can’t wait to make it again!

I spent Saturday (4/3/16) afternoon at the soccer field, getting lunch with family and a spur of the moment pedicure with the girls….. There were six of us!

I mean seriously!  Is my niece old enough to play big girl soccer!!??

My nephew and his “I am not aware of you taking my picture Aunt Brandi look”  🙂

Oh!!  And I got a new job!!!!   More on that later 🙂

Science Fair 2015

So this girl won third place in her division and second place overall for her science project!

You do not want to know what they were laughing at!  I just had to share this picture though.  Just looking at it makes me laugh.

They had the coolest activities there for the kids to do and to show the families that showed up.

I love them to the moon and back!

I love everything about these kids.  🙂

As this week comes to an end, I am looking forward to getting my meals together and getting ready to start week four of InsanityMax30.  I have zero plans tomorrow and I am going to church with a friend of mine Sunday!

I hope you have an amazing weekend!!
