Brain Fry

Wow.  Today was a complete blur.  I think from the moment that I walked into work this morning we stayed busy.  As soon as I would finish with one thing, someone else needed something or something else needed to be done.   My brain is fried.  I came home and just wanted to cry.  Instead, I cleaned the kitchen.  I couldn’t even get five minutes to just take a breath!

Whew!!

Breakfast:

I have some other pictures to add, but for some reason my computer wants to upload ALL of my photos on my SD card.  This would be the cherry on the top of the day that I have had.  🙂

Snack:

1 cup of blueberry shredded wheat and one cup of 2% milk

Lunch:

When it came time to eat lunch I wasn’t feeling all that well.  I felt sort of chilled so I decided to go with some soup, yogurt and half an apple.

This is one of the pictures that I am not able to upload.

Snack:

same as above

Dinner:

Chili

Running Schedule:

Monday:    Rest

Tuesday:    2 miles/stretching/2 rounds of core session

Wednesday:    4 mile speed drill

Thursday:    4 miles

Friday:    2 rounds of the core session/stretching

Saturday:    3 mile speed drill

Sunday:    7 miles

I was really excited to get this schedule!  🙂  My mileage didn’t increase, but Cait sent me two speed drills!!  Is it odd if I like speed drills???   Lol!  They really push me and actually makes me feel strong!

I have taken full advantage of my rest day today.  🙂

I am pretty beat so I am going to call it a night.  I hope your Monday has been a great one!

Watching leaves turn

Morning/Afternoon lovely’s!    I hope your Saturday was a good one!  I have church today, but I am going to enjoy the afternoon and rest some.  Today is also my long run of 7 miles.

We also gained an hour last night.  How are you doing with that???  Do you like falling back and gaining an hour?  I think it’s a toss-up for me, because I don’t particularly like getting up when it’s dark and then going home from work when it’s dark.  It’s the whole losing an hour of daylight in the afternoon that I don’t like, but I guess it’s better than springing forward.

Workout:

7 Mile Run:

Mile One:    9.12

Mile Two:     8.58 (halfway thru this mile I took my jacket off)

Mile Three:    8.55

Mile Four:    8.50

Mile Five:    8.56

Mile Six:    8.36

Mile Seven:    8.32

Total Time:    1:02:01

Average Pace:    8.51

I felt really great on this run!

So it’s November the 4th and I am so thankful for Christ.  Because when I don’t feel loved, or feel like I don’t have purpose, or when I get sad I know that true love, my purpose and my happiness comes from having a relationship with Him.

I found this cool 21 Day Challenge on a blog that I read called The Chocolate Mile that I thought was pretty neat.  One of the requirements is to have Twitter, but since I don’t have it I am just going to follow along on my blog.  I have missed a couple of days, but I am still going to jump right in!

Day 1:    Write a letter to yourself about how you feel today, seal it up and open it on Thanksgiving.

Day 2:    Step outside of your box!  Do something that you’ve been wanting to do, but makes you uncomfortable.

Day 3:    Call someone up that you have been thinking about, but haven’t talked to in a while.

Day 4:    Operation beautiful.  Leave a note for someone.

Breakfast:

Pre-run I ate one waffle with some almond butter and waited 30 minutes before I ran, but once I was finished I made myself a banana/chocolate smoothie.

  • 1 cup of 30 Calorie almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 large handful of spinach

Last night I looked over at my bed and this is what I found:

He kind of just blends in with the blanket… in case you were wondering, he is there now.  😉

So this past week I have watched this tree’s leaves turn.  It was the coolest thing to watch and I wish that I would have taken a picture earlier in the week.  I love the colors!!

I am off to rest for a little bit!  Have a wonderful day!

Morning!  Yay!!!  It’s Saturday!   I work today, but I don’t mind it so much because it’s only three hours.  My parents are home from their time away (they stay gone 8 months out of the year) and so they are getting acclimated to being home.

Here is how my Friday went:

Adapted recipe from Brown Eyed Baker  Chicken Pot Pie

Yum!

Breakfast:

Workout:

My day will be filled with a 3 mile run and some stretching.  🙂

With Thanksgiving approaching, I wanted put something in each post that I am thankful for.

I am thankful for a loving family that supports me and encourages me to keep going forward.

Apples, eggs and english muffins.

Hi!  How’s it going?  I am going to apologize up front for the randomness of this post.  😉   I feel like I have so much in my head and it just has to come out!

So I feel like baking all of the time now.  I mean I could go in the kitchen right now and bake cookies, a cake, a cheesecake.  Anything!  I love baking!  The problem?     I like to eat it too.  🙂   And this wouldn’t be a problem, but I sometimes can get on a roll and not stop.

Last nights sleep was pretty interesting.  Sometime around 1:30 these cats outside decided to get into a fight.  This woke me from a dead sleep!  The next thing I know I have the flashlight in hand and I am standing outside searching for the fighting cats!!  After checking on the two cats that I have outside (they are ok mom) I went back to bed, but I didn’t go right back to sleep.  I tossed a bit and then finally dozed off a couple of hours later.  I even woke up before my alarm went off, which makes for a sleepy morning.

Instead of getting my run in this morning, I did it when I came home from work.

Workout:

2 mile run.

Mile One:    8.58

Mile Two:    8.57

Total time:    18:03

Average Pace:    8.57

I felt really great on this run!

Do you watch General Hospital?   AJ is back on there!

Breakfast:

One english muffin with one cinnamon skinny cow cream cheese, half an apple and one egg

Snack:

Lunch:

One english muffin with two slices of turkey, one slice of cheddar cheese, spinach, half an apple and…

….

….some Greek Yogurt.

A few hours later I grabbed another snack:

2/3 cup of cottage cheese and some grapes

Dinner:

Grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and some sweet potato wedges.  I also put some cheyenne pepper on the sweet potatoes and oh my word they were so good!  My mouth was completely on fire when I was finished, but it was so worth it.

I cannot believe that October is almost over!  I mean oh my word this year has gone by so fast.  Thanksgiving is coming up and then Christmas.  Wow!

Have a great night!

Wednesday is gonna have wings!

Morning!   It’s my Friday!   I just have this feeling that this day is gonna go two ways.  It’s either gonna fly by or drag by.  😉  I am hoping for the former.  Well, at least until I get home.  I have so much to do today!

Am I weird that I want to clean the house before I leave??  I really don’t like coming home from a vacation to a house that needs to be cleaned.  I will even change out my sheets whether they need it or not before I leave.  Coming home to clean sheets….ahhh.  🙂  I mean I do the whole nine yards… dust, mop, toilets….you get the picture.

Halloween is next week!!   Here’s the deal.  I love the holidays.  I really do!  Everything about them!  But it’s Halloween that starts the holiday foods.  Halloween leads to Thanksgiving and more baking.  Thanksgiving leads to Christmas and parties with cookies and cheesecakes.  Christmas leads to New Years and more food themed parties.  New Years leads to Valentines, which involves copious amounts of chocolate.  That’s 5 months of candy, cookies, cakes, fudge….You get the picture.

How do you prepare for the holidays??  Do you restrict yourself from having a good time?  Or, do you enjoy the holidays to the fullest and eat everything that is put in front of you?  Is and should there be a balance??

For me, there has to be a balance.  I really hate restricting myself from enjoying everything about the holidays.  Restricting leads to so many other harmful things.

Breakfast:

One banana, one egg, and one pumpkin spice waffle with one tbsp of almond butter.

Well, I am off to get a shower and start my day!  Have a great one and check ya later!!
