Happy Hump Day!

 

Ahhh, coffee.

 

How was your Tuesday?  Anything new happen to you?  My ended with a quick 1.4 mile run.  Came home and then finished up the lawn.  Something I wanted to get done before the weekend.

 

 

 

I tried something different with lunch yesterday and I wanted to share it with you!

I took the following:

  • Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt
  • granola
  • chocolate dreams nut butter
  • 1/2 of a red delicious apple

I chopped the apple up (with skin) and put it in the bottom of the bowl, added the yogurt, added the granola, and then drizzled the nut butter on top.  This was so good!

 

 

 

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here today!  It’s cool and breezy!  I stepped outside and was like….ahhhh.  🙂  We are supposed to get some of the rain from the hurricane, so this weekend it will be rainy.  I’ll take the beautiful weather when I can get it!

 

This breakfast sandwich was so good this morning!

 

I took one egg, two slices of turkey bacon, one slice of gouda cheese and I added it all to an english muffin.

 

 

How are you going to spend your Wednesday?  I will be at work until 6:00 and then it’s off to church.

Thursday Randomness

Morning!!

 

Ok.  So I had this whole post typed out and when I hit “publish” it apparently went to blog land.  You know, that place that eats your posts and you have no idea how to retrieve them.  :/

Lol.  I can’t even remember what I had typed out!!!   Oh well. 🙂

 

 

Breakfast:

1 slice of Gluten-free Spelt toast/white chocolate dreams nut butter

2 Omega 3 eggs (cooked in lots of pepper!!)  almost too much…;)

This.was.good.

 

 

Morning workout:

I am about to get sweaty with some cardio!  Ahhh, that felt good!  I got so frustrated with losing my post that I just went ahead and started my workout.  All done now!!   And I feel so much better!   Ain’t nothing like a little cardio/strength interval workout.

 

Update:

I wanted to give you a little update on some of my goals.  Push-up goal!   I am up to 35!  Don’t get too excited…….I am still on my knees.  I can at least do 10 on my feet though!   It’s the little things that make me happy.

I have also continued my running journey.  I am slowly building my endurance and speed.  Can’t ask for anything else!  Well, super duper speed would be nice, but I will take the slow and steady pace for now.  ;p

 

Lately all I have wanted to do is come home and read.  I meant it!  I haven’t even turned on my tv!!!  I usually end up reading for a couple of hours and then shutting it down for the night.  I am loving this series by Veronica Roth.  I am not getting through the second book quite as fast as the first one, but loving it just the same.  I love the developement of the characters!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the Hunger Games series very much, but felt the last book was a little rushed.

 

 

Maybe I will start a book club or something!!  Or at least get Goodreads up.  😉

Holla for Wednesday!

Morning!  And how in the world are you??   I am so excited that it’s Wednesday.  I mean, how can we not be?  Here are some reasons why:  I woke up—-that’s always a plus, it rained and we really need that, it’s a run day, I have a great cup of coffee in hand, it’s almost the weekend, and as hard as it can be sometimes, I get to choose to have a positive attitude instead of a negative one.

Sometimes it’s easier to have a negative outlook instead of a positive one.  What are you going to do??

 

 

My cup was so big that the 10 oz didn’t fit in it all the way…:)

 

Last night I met up with a good friend that I hadn’t seen in a while to get a walk in.  We were going to meet up at the local track in town, but there was a football game.  Um, is it too early to start that??  🙂    I called up my friend and asked her if she wanted to meet at the local Rec Center and she did, so we headed over there.  We ended up doing just over 3 miles of walking.  I missed her very much and it was nice to catch up.

My legs are a little stiff this morning, not sure why, but hopefully they will loosen up soon or I am going to have to have a little talk with them.  😉

 

Workout:

It’s a run day!  The plan is another 2 miles.  I wanted to give you an update on my push-up challenge!  I am up to 28 push ups!!  I can really tell a difference in my arms too.

Overnight Oats!

  • 1/2 cup of gluten-free oats
  • 1/8 cup of steel-cut oats
  • 1 tsp of chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp of dark chocolate dreams
  • 1/2 scoop of protein powder

I tried something different with this batch.  I included the steel-cut oats for texture and I also didn’t add the chia seeds until this morning.  I wanted the crunchy taste.  🙂  This was really good, but I like the white chocolate nut butter instead.

 

 

Oh my gosh I just saw a commercial for the Hunger Games DVD!   August 18th!

 

 

Welp, I got to run….Might be able to get a morning workout in!

Question, salad night, and sweat

Hello people!   How was your Tuesday?  It’s noooot quite over yet, but pretty close.  🙂  I woke up this morning and felt really good!  It was another busy day at work, so feeling good was, um…..a good thing.  🙂  The third of the month is such a great day!  For all of you bankers out there, you know what I mean.

 

 

Breakfast:

I wanted something that would last a while, so I went with my usual.  Gluten-free toast, dark chocolate dreams nut butter, a banana, and some chia seeds.  This meal lasts a long time!

 

 

 

Lunch:

 

Brown rice gluten-free toast, tuna salad, and some strawberries.  Yum!  The strawberries were soooo sweet.

 

 

 

Afternoon snack:

 

Cliff bar Crispy and then a little later….

 

 

Some almonds.  I had one left before I realized that I had not taken a picture yet!

 

 

Question:

Ok, now for the question.  I love spinach.  I really do!  Here’s the deal.  I don’t eat it fast enough.  I don’t eat it every day and most of the time I end up throwing half of the container away.  So my question is this…..How do you keep your spinach fresh and make it last longer?  I guess that is two questions. 🙂

 

 

Workout:

On my lunch today I ended up doing my workout.  Jillian Michael’s Shed and Shred.  Once I finished, I cooled off for just a minute and then washed my hair.  Put some fresh deodorant on and then splashed some smell good lotion.  I don’t particularly like doing that on my lunch break, but I really wanted to get my workout in earlier in the day.  It works.  🙂

 

Tips for working out during the work day:

  1. Pack your clothes the night before
  2. don’t forget the DVD if you are going to use one! (this is more for me)
  3. purchase a travel bag of shampoo, deodorant, lotion, etc
  4. pack a towel and even a wash cloth
  5. smell good spray

 

What kinds of tips do you guys have for working out during the work day??
