Crisp cool Wednesday!

Happy Hump day!!  It is Wednesday right??  It’s also the third of the month.  In the banking world, this is a pretty busy day.  Everyone in the entire world gets a paycheck today.  Everyone.

In continuation of my meal plan for Tuesday, here are my eats for the rest of the day:

Morning snack:

Lunch:

My meal plan called for a turkey burger, but I didn’t have any turkey meat, so I improvised with some chicken.  I made some chicken burgers!  I also had some guacamole, lettuce, spinach and I also used 1 slice of whole wheat bread, but cut it in half.

Afternoon snack:

cottage cheese and peaches!

Dinner:

Brown rice, chicken patty, and some steamed veggies with cheese.

Workout:

It’s a run day!!!  3 miles!!  Aaaand, I get to work on my speed today.  I will start out with a 10 minute warm-up jog, then I will do 5 sets of 1 minute at a fast pace and then follow up with a 2 minute recovery jog.

**Felt amazing on this run!**

Mile One:    9.11

Mile Two:    8.37

Mile Three:    8.57

Time:    26.57

Average Pace:    8.56

Remember when I told you yesterday morning that we were having a festival this weekend??  Timberfest?  Anyway, they are having work nights up at the local court-house this week so I went on up after work.

There is still a lot to do, and to be honest you kind of feel like you are in the way.  🙂  It will look pretty amazing when it’s all finished.  The people who are in charge have been doing it for a long time and pretty much have it down to science.  🙂

Breakfast:

Nice feet shot!

Have a great day!!!

Yoplait Me

Morning!  And how was your Sunday?   Mine was great!  Aside from not getting a lot of sleep the night before, Sunday was a great day.  🙂  Church was amazing.  I love how there is always something in the sermon that I need to hear.

Do you know what else I love to hear?  Rain.  It’s coming a down pour right now and the sound of it is fantastic.

I tried something new yesterday for breakfast!  Yoplait has a new 100 calorie greek yogurt, so I picked up a couple to try.  🙂

After church I did head over to my friend’s house to hang out for a bit and then I headed home to get a little rest in.  I ended up actually taking a nap!  On Sunday, I always lay down.  Always.  I don’t neccessarily want to go to sleep, but I like to just relax and rest.  I ended up going to sleep!  I didn’t feel all that great when I got up either.  Ugh.  Sometimes napping does that to me.  Once I was fully awake, it was all good.

These strawberries were super sweet!

I really did like this yogurt!  I only purchased two: Vanilla and Strawberry.  I will definitely have to pick up some more vanilla.  I also added some Cascadian granola and some cinnamon.  This.was.so.good.

So what is on your agenda today?   I am going to get in a morning workout, which I am super excited about and then head into work until 6:00.  It’s also a run day!  My pan is to do 2 miles.  Easy Peasy.  🙂

Check ya later!

Birthday’s, half-days, and 90210

Well, it’s not exactly my birthday today, but it is tomorrow!  It’s funny, it really is just another day to me.  I have had my 18th, my 21st, my 30th and my 35th….wow that’s a long time!  Do I dare keep going???   So, how do you celebrate your 37th birthday?  Hmmm?  That would be the question.  🙂

I will share with you one of my favorite passages in the Bible:

For You formed my inward parts, You covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.  My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.  And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.  Psalm 139:13-16

Sure my birthday really is just another day, but according to this passage my birthday has a purpose.  A plan.  A hope.  That in itself is really the best birthday gift of all.  🙂

Getting out of bed this morning was a little harder than I thought it was going to be.  For some reason I ended up staying up last night until midnight and when my alarm went off at 5:15, it kinda hurt.  Yes, I do have those days.  🙂  So I said bye to the morning workout and just chilled out with my coffee and breakfast.

Breakfast:

Thomas English Muffin, banana, almond butter and chia seeds.

Sunday I made the decision to not drink any iced coffee’s or mocha’s for a while.  Not only are they loaded with unwanted, stick to your hips, calories, the caffeine can make me feel funny sometimes.  And that’s funny/weird, not funny/ha ha.  🙂  Anyway, I am 5 full days clean!!  Lol…it’s the small things that make me happy.

Mid-morning snack:

Strawberry Dannon Greek Yogurt with some granola…..My favorite.

A few hours later I went for my Turkey/Provolone/spinach sandwich, one Clementine, and one Gluten-free cookie.

Afternoon snack:

Gluten free granola bar……..sold at Wal-mart.

Dinner:

Random dinner.  Leftover roasted potato’s, peas/carrots combo, two bbq baked chicken strips.  As I was taking this picture, I made the decision right then and there to eat salads for dinner!  🙂

On my down time from studying, I have been catching up on old episodes of Beverly Hills 90210.  Ahhh the good ole days….Brandon and Kelly, Kelly and Dylan, Donna and David.  I had forgotten how much I really loved that show!  Well, Donna and David got married yesterday and they started the episodes over.  Holy cow were they that young!!??  Good times.

Well, I am out.  Going to bed early tonight! 🙂   I hope that you have a great night.

A rainy day

It’s been rainy for two days now, so this was the first thing that I was thinking about when I got up.  It was nice and hot!  Today it’s rained off and on all day, which is like taking a sleeping pill for me.  (Which I don’t take).   I turned my alarm off this morning and got another hour of sleep, so there was no morning workout.  On my workout schedule today?  Second week: Day 6 of BodyRock.

Sleeping in didn’t give me a whole lot fo time to get ready for work, but I still managed to get breakfast down.

On my lunch break today I thought that I would do the first part of the BodyRock workout.  I don’t have the timer that the bodyrockers use, so I used the timer on my iPhone.  I asked a co-worker to time me as she was eating her lunch.  🙂   Her name is Kayla and she is expecting, as you can see.  She also has a blog called, Family Love and Music, where she blogs about her life and the changes that pregnancy brings.

It was really funny watching her time me….Here she was, six months pregnant, all kicked back, eating her gumbo, listening to me grunt during my workout!  It was funny 🙂  Her name is Kayla and she also has a blog, called; Family Love and Music.  She blogs about her life and the new life that she and her husband are going to have when baby Evan comes along.

Post lunch-workout, I had a chicken wrap and it was oh so yummy.   It was definitely a nice change.

Half of a Flat out wrap

chicken (about 3 oz)

black beans

1 tbls spoon of shredded cheese

as much spinach that would fit 🙂

I put it in a toaster oven just to melt the cheese.  I don’t think I took a breath…;)

Part of the reason I did the first part of the workout on my lunch was because I was feeling sleepy!  It worked for a while, but after lunch, the feeling came back.  I blame the rain.  I was pretty excited when it was time to head home.  I even thought about skipping the second part of the BodyRock workout.  I did it.  It hurt.  A lot.  Let’s say there were some definite modifications.

I wanted to share some of the books that have made an impact on my life.  There is always something that speaks to me from a book, but then there are the ones that just scream out at you.  Inspire you.  Motivate you.

  1.  Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer
  2. Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver
  3. Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver
  4. So Long, Insecurity by Beth Moore
  5. Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst
  6. Radical by David Platt

These are just some of them, but I just wanted to share.  I am going to wash my face, brush my teeth and get into my comfy clothes.  Hopefully, get into bed early.  🙂  Have a great night!
