Getting back on track

It’s hump day!  So how has your Wednesday been?  Mine started off foggy, but it cleared up and actually got hot later in the day.

I don’t think that I told you, but I got my windshield fixed today.  A few years ago I got a ding in it and thankfully it didn’t spread across the entire windshield, so I left it alone.  Back in February, on different days, I managed to get three more dings in it.  What are the odds??  Well, one of them decided to start running…and running…..and running.

I got in touch with my insurance company so that I could get it fixed.  I figured with my deductible I would end up paying at a minimum $250, well I ended up having a $0 deductible, which means…….$0 to fix my windshield.  Thank you Lord!  🙂  Woop!

My new window is so pretty!

Breakfast:

Went back to my favorite:  Rudi’s Gluten-free toast, nut butter, banana, and some chia seeds.

Vitamins:

If you were curious as to what vitamins or supplements that I take……this is it.. 🙂   I start my day with one Glucosamine, and two Centrum Pro Nutrients Fruits and Veggies (which I won from Brittany at Itty Bits of Balance). 🙂   On my way to work I drink some water with a Centrum Probiotic supplement.

Lunch:

Gluten-free bread, provolone cheese, turkey, and some chipotle bbq sauce.

Dinner:

Quinoa and brown rice mix, spinach, and some chicken.  One of my favorites!

Staying on Track:

Do you ever have one of those days, or even weeks, where you feel like every time you turn around you have something in your mouth?  You might have an extremely stressful day and want to turn to something sweet.  Let’s talk about staying on track, shall we.

  • If you’re having an issue with staying, or even getting motivated for a workout, just do a short one.  Who knows, maybe fitting in a 10 minute workout will motivate you to do more.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.  This will ultimately set the stage for your meals and your day!
  • Water.  My goal is to get in at least 80 oz of water a day.  Before I go to bed at night, I set some water on my nightstand, so when I get up in the morning I grab it and drink.  Your body gets pretty dehydrated while you sleep, so doing this helps me get my water in.
  • Track your food.  This may or may not work for some people.  I have done this, but it isn’t my favorite thing to do.  With that said, when I first started to lose my weight, tracking my food was a huge part of my weight loss.
  • If you know someone who has been on a similar journey that you are on, seek them out and encourage each other.  You can also find great blogs out there with great journey’s on them as well.
  • Share your goals.  When you do this, it holds you accountable with others.  You can also find a buddy.
  •  Stressed?  Take a walk and see what happens.  It’s Spring!  It is ok to stop and smell the roses.
  • Make a list of your favorite healthy eats.
  • Work in the yard.  This is my favorite thing to do!  Give me a push mower and let me go!  🙂
  • Take the stairs.  Park in the back of the parking lot.  It’s the small things. 🙂
  • Dance!  Get your favorite song and get jiggy with it.  This is probably one of my favorite things to do.  Turn on the music and free dance baby!
  • Eat a piece of fruit.  Start small, if you start out with one fruit and one veggie a day, trust me your body will want more.
  • Slow down during your meals.  This is a big one for me.  I worked at Sonic for 5 years and we got two 15 minute breaks.  On one of them I ate my dinner.  Well, I think I ate it anyway.  I may have just sucked it down my cake-hole.  If you are eating with silverware, put them down after every bite.  Sandwich, set it down after each bite.  You get the picture.
  • Learn something new.  I am seriously contemplating taking salsa dance lessons.  I will keep you posted.

I hope some of these ideas help get you motivated or even get you motivated to come up with some of your own ideas.  I am by no means an expert and still have my off days, but I try really hard to stay motivated with my healthy lifestyle.

Workout:

Sadly, I have this muscle thing in my left shoulder.  Level three on Jillian’s Ripped in 30, has a lot of shoulder work. With plank moves, up-right rows, etc….  I also think I slept wrong on it last night.  I am thinking of investing in some really great pillows.

So, I took today as a rest day, but tomorrow will be back to level three (keeping fingers crossed).

Welp, I am out.  It’s been a long work day and I am pooped.  I hope you have a great night!

Question:  Have a great pillow??  Any suggestions on where I should look first?

Leap Year Day comin to a close…

Well, it’s about to end.  This day will not come for another 4 years.  Happy Birthday to all of those who had one today!! 🙂  Aaaaand I hear this is the day that it’s ok for women to ask the men to marry them.  So, congrats to any ladies that got on one knee today!  🙂

It has been the best day.  The day started kinda foggy, but then the sun came out and it was really nice.  What was for lunch today?  I went to bed last night with Subway on my mind.  😉

Lunch:

I’ll take a Subway grilled chicken with spinach, lettuce, pickles and spicy mustard please! 🙂

I usually try to get my probiotic supplement in first thing in the morning, but somehow I ended up waiting until after lunch.

It looks like lemonade, but there is actually no taste at all.

I worked until 6 tonight, so after work I headed onto church.  From 6 to 7 my church serves a meal, and then from 7 to 8 we have a bible study for all age groups.  Tonight I was able to set down and visit with a special lady in my church.  Gale, if you are reading this, thank you so much for your friendship!

Instead of eating the meal at church, I brought some greek yogurt, granola, and a tangerine.  No picture, but it sure was yummy.  🙂

Alright, its sleepy time.  I have a big day tomorrow!  Have a great night!
