A quick note, super foods, and bed time

I don’t know about you, but this week has flown by!  I am getting adjusted to the medicine that my “lady” doctor prescribed and it’s taking a little longer than I want it to.  The last couple of nights I have been in bed before 9!  Not tonight though…:) 

The meds have really thrown my appetite out the window and it’s been a little all over the place.  I did manage to have breakfast this morning, but without a picture.  I went with one of the smoothies that I love!

 

Breakfast:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of frozen cherries
  • 1 tbs of flax meal
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup of 35 Calorie Almond milk
  • 1/2 scoop of chocolate whey protein mix
  • 1 handful of Kale

 

 

Lunch:

Soy chicken sandwich with some provolone cheese

 

Dinner:

3 oz of steak, sweet potato wedges, and some lima beans

Before I go off to bed, I wanted to share some super food info with you.  Here is a list of some great foods that you can incorporate into your diet.  Some I love, some I had to get used to, but they are all great additions to anyone’s food intake.  🙂

  • Broccoli
  • Oats
  • Oranges
  • Pumpkin

  • Spinach
  • Tea (green or black)
  • Tomatoes
  • Turkey
  • Walnuts

These types of foods are packed with tons of nutrients that are vital to a healthy lifestyle.  I promise they will make you feel better!

Cake, GI Joe and Tron

Hello!!  I hope everyone has had a fabulous day!  I sure did!  🙂  Yesterday was my birthday, but I actually celebrated with my family today.  We decided to go a little early to my brother’s house so the kiddo’s could ride on my dad’s new toy.

I am not sure who had more fun…..the kids or my dad. 🙂

I wanted to show you last nights dinner, mainly because it was a little different.  I had purchased a butternut squash that really needed to be cooked, so I split it four ways and roasted it in the oven.  I also had some tofurky and some black beans.

My dad and I also shared a cup of “birthday” coffee. 

This is my cup from Astana, Kazakhstan.  I thought the special moment deserved a special cup.

 

Lunch today was pretty simple.  I knew that we were going to honk on some pizza and cake later, so I just went with some grapes and a chicken, black bean, spinach, melt.

There was also some provolone cheese in the mix.

 

So we partied hard at my brothers house…..Well, to be exact we watched GI Joe, ate pizza, ate cake, and then we watched Tron 2.  Have you seen the Tron movie???  I found it very difficult to follow, and my brother was a little annoyed by all of the questions I kept asking.  😉

My neph-cat, Berg.  I swear that cat is giving me the evil eye. 

And then there was the sugar coma’s.  

I haven’t had a tremendous amount of sugar in my diet in a week and after eating the cake, my tummy kinda started to turn.  This is what sugar does to you people!!!    I did enjoy the cake though…;)

Well, I am pretty beat, so am going to go wash my face, brush my teeth and get into bed… Got a busy day at church tomorrow.

Chacing my tail!

After starting my class Monday and having to get back into the swing of reading and having assignments (which I have yet to get) I am starting to see how difficult it is to maintain a blog.  I don’t know about you, but I have to read in quiet.  Total quiet.  So I really don’t get to read much until it’s time to crawl into bed.  I worked till 6 p.m. tonight and then had to be somewhere right after.  I didn’t walk through the door until 7:30, which basically leaves only 2 1/2 hours of free time.  Keep in mind, I have yet to eat dinner.

It’s nearly 11 now and I am still awake.  🙂  I am almost finished with the last chapter and I will be ready for Monday nights class!

Enough ranting!!

 

Snack time today was one of my favorites…..I love eating this!

Key Lime greek yogurt and some gluten-free granola!

 

I am also having fun with my camera as you can see…:)

 

On my lunch break today, I thought that I would put my running sneakers on and see if I could get in some miles.  For time sake, I managed to do 2.62 miles and felt really good.  My pace was 8.58!

For my actual lunch I had my turkey sandwich, with veggies, provolone cheese, and some sweet and spicy bbq sauce.  Yum!

I also had one clementine and a piece of 70% dark chocolate.

 

So I got to digging around on the internet…..I wanted to see what’s the best foods to be eating right now.  Here is the list of the top 6: From WebMD
