Brain Fry

Wow.  Today was a complete blur.  I think from the moment that I walked into work this morning we stayed busy.  As soon as I would finish with one thing, someone else needed something or something else needed to be done.   My brain is fried.  I came home and just wanted to cry.  Instead, I cleaned the kitchen.  I couldn’t even get five minutes to just take a breath!

I have some other pictures to add, but for some reason my computer wants to upload ALL of my photos on my SD card.  This would be the cherry on the top of the day that I have had.  🙂

1 cup of blueberry shredded wheat and one cup of 2% milk

When it came time to eat lunch I wasn’t feeling all that well.  I felt sort of chilled so I decided to go with some soup, yogurt and half an apple.

This is one of the pictures that I am not able to upload.

same as above

Running Schedule:

Monday:    Rest

Tuesday:    2 miles/stretching/2 rounds of core session

Wednesday:    4 mile speed drill

Thursday:    4 miles

Friday:    2 rounds of the core session/stretching

Saturday:    3 mile speed drill

Sunday:    7 miles

I was really excited to get this schedule!  🙂  My mileage didn’t increase, but Cait sent me two speed drills!!  Is it odd if I like speed drills???   Lol!  They really push me and actually makes me feel strong!

I have taken full advantage of my rest day today.  🙂

I am pretty beat so I am going to call it a night.  I hope your Monday has been a great one!

Watching leaves turn

Morning/Afternoon lovely’s!    I hope your Saturday was a good one!  I have church today, but I am going to enjoy the afternoon and rest some.  Today is also my long run of 7 miles.

We also gained an hour last night.  How are you doing with that???  Do you like falling back and gaining an hour?  I think it’s a toss-up for me, because I don’t particularly like getting up when it’s dark and then going home from work when it’s dark.  It’s the whole losing an hour of daylight in the afternoon that I don’t like, but I guess it’s better than springing forward.

7 Mile Run:

Mile One:    9.12

Mile Two:     8.58 (halfway thru this mile I took my jacket off)

Mile Three:    8.55

Mile Four:    8.50

Mile Five:    8.56

Mile Six:    8.36

Mile Seven:    8.32

Total Time:    1:02:01

Average Pace:    8.51

I felt really great on this run!

So it’s November the 4th and I am so thankful for Christ.  Because when I don’t feel loved, or feel like I don’t have purpose, or when I get sad I know that true love, my purpose and my happiness comes from having a relationship with Him.

I found this cool 21 Day Challenge on a blog that I read called The Chocolate Mile that I thought was pretty neat.  One of the requirements is to have Twitter, but since I don’t have it I am just going to follow along on my blog.  I have missed a couple of days, but I am still going to jump right in!

Day 1:    Write a letter to yourself about how you feel today, seal it up and open it on Thanksgiving.

Day 2:    Step outside of your box!  Do something that you’ve been wanting to do, but makes you uncomfortable.

Day 3:    Call someone up that you have been thinking about, but haven’t talked to in a while.

Day 4:    Operation beautiful.  Leave a note for someone.

Pre-run I ate one waffle with some almond butter and waited 30 minutes before I ran, but once I was finished I made myself a banana/chocolate smoothie.

  • 1 cup of 30 Calorie almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 large handful of spinach

Last night I looked over at my bed and this is what I found:

He kind of just blends in with the blanket… in case you were wondering, he is there now.  😉

So this past week I have watched this tree’s leaves turn.  It was the coolest thing to watch and I wish that I would have taken a picture earlier in the week.  I love the colors!!

I am off to rest for a little bit!  Have a wonderful day!

Happy November 1st!

Happy Thursday!  Can you really believe that it’s November already?  I mean time really does go by fast when you think about it.

I got to watch the sun come up this morning on my run. 🙂  This is one of the many reasons why I love my treadmill being outside.  Although when it gets colder it will have to be moved inside.

Today’s schedule called for a speed drill/tempo run.  Let’s look at it shall we…..  I started out with a  minute warm-up then for the next run a 10 minute tempo run.  The goal was for me to get faster every two minutes with the last two minutes really rolling!

Mile One:    9.17

Mile Two:    8.28  (fastest mile to date!!!)

Mile Three:    8.43

Mile Four:    9.02

Total time:    35:39

Average pace:    8.52

I’ll tell ya, this tempo run kinda hurt……but the good kind of hurt.  It really forced me to push past my comfort zone.  By a lot.  😉  Whew!!   It felt really good!

Turkey burger no bun, roasted red potato, half of a banana.

No picture.  🙂

Running update:

Since October is ending, I wanted to give you guys an update on how much I have enjoyed my running journey so far.  It’s been really cool seeing the progress and actually being able to run miles that I never even thought that I could run.

Here is my first run that Cait sent to me on October 1st:

2 Miles.  It took me 18:55 minutes to run it and my average pace was 9.23

On Tuesday, October 30th, Cait also had me down for a 2 mile run:

2 Miles.  It took me 18:03 minutes to run it and my average pace was 8.57.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever see myself running like this.  It’s crazy when I think about!  I love to get into a conversation with someone about and tell them that if I can do it, so can they.  No matter how fast or how slow, just get and run!

Have I loved every run? No, not really.  Most of them, yes.  With running I have learned that you just have to take it day by day.  The body is such a mystery sometimes and that is why it’s so important to fuel it the right way so that the run will be great.  Fuel it with junk, the run will be junky.  🙂

What’s been the hardest?  To be honest, the eating part.  It’s something that I am still trying to find a balance with.  I want to properly fuel it correctly, but I also don’t want to overeat.  I also want to eat enough during the entire day and not end up wanting to eat a horse at the end of the day.  Cait has a post about this very thing right……here.

I just have really enjoyed the entire process of running and this balance that comes with it.  I have also enjoyed having someone like Cait on my team.  Someone that knows what she is talking about and someone who really just loves everything about running.  I have complete confidence in her and what she sends me.  🙂

Today, November the 1st, I am thankful for the life that I have.  The breath that I have and that God sees fit to sustain it.

Have a great night!

Happy Halloween!

Well hello there!   As I type this up I am baking some Halloween cookies!   I got the recipe from Brown Eyed Baker.  Monster cookies!

Did you have a good day?   My day actually ended at noon today so I was pretty happy about that.  I didn’t get my run in this morning so I got right on the treadmill right when I got home.  This week mother nature has hit pretty hard and my “visitor” is giving me headaches and making me a grumpy person in the morning.  I hope to be back to normal by the end of this week!  It’s amazing how that little thing throws your entire week off!  (if there are any men reading….sorry!!)

Today I had a 4 mile run on the schedule and couldn’t wait to do it!  Like I said, this morning was a no go, but by the time I got home I was ready for it!

Mile One:     9.08

Mile Two:    8.54

Mile Three:    8.45

Mile Four:    8.45

Total time:    35:30

Average Pace:    8.50

I did some stretching when I was finished and then I like the song so much that I was listening to, I got my grove on.  🙂

I really wanted some oatmeal this morning, so I grabbed a bag and added 1 tbsp of almond butter.  I also wanted an egg and some grapes…

For my snack this morning I grabbed a banana and some pumpkin spiced pecans that I had made earlier in the week..

This really hit the spot!

After my run I jumped in the shower and cleaned up and then made myself a smoothie for lunch.  I added all the fabulous nutrients:

  • 1 cup of 30 Calorie almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of frozen cherries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • scoop of protein powder
  • and a large handful of spinach

No picture…..sorry!!  It was good though. 😉

I am working on dinner right now… 😉

One chicken link, steamed veggies, and one red potato.  Yum yum and yum.

So while I was typing all of this up, the cookies are done!!

I think they turned out pretty good.  The house smells wonderful!  You really must make these cookies!  I haven’t tried one yet, but they sure smell good.

Where I live at, we don’t have very many kiddo’s that come by for some candy on Halloween, but every year I think we gain at least one or two more kids.  So I ran by the store and grabbed a bag of candy….  Not good that it’s in the house, but whatever is left I am taking to work tomorrow and I am forcing it on the customers.  Really, I am.

Happy Halloween guys!!

Apples, eggs and english muffins.

Hi!  How’s it going?  I am going to apologize up front for the randomness of this post.  😉   I feel like I have so much in my head and it just has to come out!

So I feel like baking all of the time now.  I mean I could go in the kitchen right now and bake cookies, a cake, a cheesecake.  Anything!  I love baking!  The problem?     I like to eat it too.  🙂   And this wouldn’t be a problem, but I sometimes can get on a roll and not stop.

Last nights sleep was pretty interesting.  Sometime around 1:30 these cats outside decided to get into a fight.  This woke me from a dead sleep!  The next thing I know I have the flashlight in hand and I am standing outside searching for the fighting cats!!  After checking on the two cats that I have outside (they are ok mom) I went back to bed, but I didn’t go right back to sleep.  I tossed a bit and then finally dozed off a couple of hours later.  I even woke up before my alarm went off, which makes for a sleepy morning.

Instead of getting my run in this morning, I did it when I came home from work.

2 mile run.

Mile One:    8.58

Mile Two:    8.57

Total time:    18:03

Average Pace:    8.57

I felt really great on this run!

Do you watch General Hospital?   AJ is back on there!

One english muffin with one cinnamon skinny cow cream cheese, half an apple and one egg

One english muffin with two slices of turkey, one slice of cheddar cheese, spinach, half an apple and…

….some Greek Yogurt.

A few hours later I grabbed another snack:

2/3 cup of cottage cheese and some grapes

Grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and some sweet potato wedges.  I also put some cheyenne pepper on the sweet potatoes and oh my word they were so good!  My mouth was completely on fire when I was finished, but it was so worth it.

I cannot believe that October is almost over!  I mean oh my word this year has gone by so fast.  Thanksgiving is coming up and then Christmas.  Wow!

Have a great night!
