Cake, GI Joe and Tron

Hello!!  I hope everyone has had a fabulous day!  I sure did!  🙂  Yesterday was my birthday, but I actually celebrated with my family today.  We decided to go a little early to my brother’s house so the kiddo’s could ride on my dad’s new toy.

I am not sure who had more fun…..the kids or my dad. 🙂

I wanted to show you last nights dinner, mainly because it was a little different.  I had purchased a butternut squash that really needed to be cooked, so I split it four ways and roasted it in the oven.  I also had some tofurky and some black beans.

My dad and I also shared a cup of “birthday” coffee.

This is my cup from Astana, Kazakhstan.  I thought the special moment deserved a special cup.

Lunch today was pretty simple.  I knew that we were going to honk on some pizza and cake later, so I just went with some grapes and a chicken, black bean, spinach, melt.

There was also some provolone cheese in the mix.

So we partied hard at my brothers house…..Well, to be exact we watched GI Joe, ate pizza, ate cake, and then we watched Tron 2.  Have you seen the Tron movie???  I found it very difficult to follow, and my brother was a little annoyed by all of the questions I kept asking.  😉

My neph-cat, Berg.  I swear that cat is giving me the evil eye.

And then there was the sugar coma’s.

I haven’t had a tremendous amount of sugar in my diet in a week and after eating the cake, my tummy kinda started to turn.  This is what sugar does to you people!!!    I did enjoy the cake though…;)

Well, I am pretty beat, so am going to go wash my face, brush my teeth and get into bed… Got a busy day at church tomorrow.

Later folks!

Girls Night!

Morning folks!  Last night I went to bed pretty early and it felt so good!  When my alarm went off at 5:15 this morning, I was ready to hit my workout.  Day 9 of the BodyRock 2012 Challenge and I am still loving it!

But, before I get to this morning, let me finish out yesterday.  I knew that I was going to be doing BodyRock once I got home yesterday, so around 4:30 I grabbed a snack of almonds, peanuts and grapes.  The grapes were so good and crisp!

I drank a lot of water yesterday….I mean A LOT.  I haven’t done that in a while and I felt a big difference when I was working out.  The BodyRock workouts are short, but they are super hard.

Last nights dinner was SO good!  I bought these ToFurky links a while back and forgot that I had them.  There is 29 grams of protein in one link!  There is quite a bit of sodium, but it was still good.

Sweet potato wedges and some roasted green beans topped off the meal.  🙂

This morning’s workout was really hard!!  But only 4 moves!!

  • push-up+burpee+squat jump
  • Abs (elbow to knees, legs are kept straight)
  • squat jumps w/weights
  • combo of 10 Mt climbers and 10 toe touches

I was drenched when I finished this workout.  Remember to do each move for 50 seconds and then rest for 10.  Do this circuit three times through and you have your workout!  It took me 16 minutes to do this.  Who doesn’t have 16 minutes!?

I have a run scheduled for today, but I am meeting some girlfriends for a girls night!  I haven’t done this in a long time.  I am a bit of a homebody.  :/    I would even say that I am not very social.  Most of my friends are married and have children so it’s hard to get together.   I am super excited though and will post pics…..probably tomorrow. 😉  Three day weekend!!   I will get my run in on Saturday 🙂

Post workout, I went for the English Muffin, banana, and nut butter combo….This is a great breakfast after a workout.

Holy cow it was good!

My youngest “child” stayed under my feet the entire time I was getting breakfast ready.  My lil man Rocky…

Welp, got to go and get ready for work!  I hope that you  have a great day!

Question:  What are you big plans for the weekend??

On the home stretch ….

Just a few more days left!  I don’t know about you, but this last week has just been a blur.  As a banker, Christmas time is a busy time for us.  Everyone needs money to get those gifts!! 🙂  Yesterday was no exception.  Busy!  I am interested to see what this Friday is going to be like.  I guess this week has also made me brain-dead.  I totally flaked on a meeting that I was supposed to be at last night.  Agh!   To find a new pastor, my church is going through this interim process and having these meetings is part of that process.  Brandi was not there…:(   I was so brain-dead that I went to bed at 8:30 and didn’t get up this morning until 7:15.  Maybe I just needed some sleep.  I also woke up to rain this morning, which is great when you can sleep in, but not so great when you have to drive and work in it… :/

Yesterday’s breakfast was a nice change…English Muffin, with 1 slice of turkey bacon, egg, and some organic blueberry spread.

Not the best pictures, but it sure did taste good.  🙂

For lunch I finished off the quinoa/brown rice, chicken and green bean mix.  Surprisingly still just as good.

When it came to last night’s dinner, I wanted something a little different.

In the mix:  Whole Wheat pasta, with roasted broccoli, and some tofurky, with some roasted sweet potato’s on the side.  (which I am currently obsessed with)

Since I went to bed early last night, there wasn’t much action with anything.   I am about to enjoy probably the best cup of coffee that I will drink…..today.  🙂

I did take some pictures of the decorations around the house…..

I am a candle freak…:)

I hope that you have an awesome day!!

Question:  Are you finished with all of your Christmas shopping??
